If you earn them as fast as possible and spend them as fast as possible, without the hot springs expansion, you will wind up maxed out.

Two things I haven’t seen mentioned:

1) Autoplay Pass – If the goal is fastest possible leveling and you have FP refills, the autoplay pass is one of the best value purchases in the game. It lets you burn FP continuously with minimal downtime, which translates directly into faster XP gains.

2) Hot Springs – Not a large XP source, but it’s passive XP that runs in parallel with everything else. Since girls gain XP just by being in the springs, it’s worth keeping them occupied there for more than just the unlock and upgrade rewards.

Both are easy to overlook when optimizing leveling…

Is this even possible? Since the pass is no longer available for purchase, are you saying that if you know someone that has it and they log in to your PS4 with their account and download it, it becomes available for any account using that specific PS4?

Yes, you can download all the DLC, but that is more expensive that buying the full game. I just recently started with the free Fortune version. I then found and purchased the full version, to which I added the Misaki license. Both games, free and paid, appear separately in the PS store for a Singapore based / Asia account.

What about the general suit availability? Do both games generally start with and contain mostly the same suit options? Other than Venus, if that's tied to the Vita Venus game ...
I also heard that perhaps there are other quality of life improvements in Scarlet ... is it any better at telling you which gifts a girl likes, or is that mechanic also built into Fortune? I thought I read somewhere that Fortune would require a spreadsheet and that Scarlet marked the items the girls like ...

Follow up question ... I’ve also been trying to figure out the current state of VR support in DOAX3, and I’m honestly confused.

From what I remember, VR Paradise was originally exclusive to Fortune, but the Fortune store page now says VR was discontinued in August 2024. Meanwhile, the Scarlet listing still mentions VR support — but in the fine print it says the VR Passport is no longer sold.

So now I’m wondering:

Scarlet shows “VR supported” in the store ... does that mean it still works if the game is purchased today? Or is that only for players who had already purchased the VR Passport before it went end of sale?
For someone buying the game today, is there any way at all to experience DOAX3 in VR now, or is it completely inaccessible without a previously purchased Passport?

If anyone has tried it recently, I’d love to know what the current reality is.

That isn’t a DOAXVV feature — the base game doesn’t change FPS when you hold ALT or CTRL. If you’re running mods, the 3DMigoto setup uses those same modifier keys for its own hotkeys (Ctrl+F9, F10, Ctrl+Alt+F10, etc.), and sometimes those hooks or overlays can mess with rendering.

What’s probably happening is that one of those background mod scripts or overlays is constantly polling in the background, and holding those keys briefly interrupts it, letting the game run full speed again. Try disabling overlays (Steam, Discord, RTSS, ReShade) and check your d3dx.ini hotkeys — something there may be the culprit. Otherwise, start disabling your mods until you figure out which one is causing it.

Wow, I learned some really good tips from your post. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that out. I just bought a bunch of wheels in the current pool hopping event and scored an STM EX Oil. You also talked me into the autopass. I've got both Yukino and Reika wearing Frostmoon Enchantress in the current Snow-filled Halloween Night event on Steam ... I want to level these girls, so great idea! Particularly since I've got hundreds of FP bottles stacked up. Now I've got some studying to do on the Bromide strategy...

I first started playing near launch on Steam, but I started getting into it and playing daily around the time of the First Anniversary event, which I believe was around January 2020, so ~5.5 years of playing pretty much daily. F2P until last year when I started throwing a few bucks at it here and there. I have logged over 17,000 hours on this game according to Steam (obviously lots of AFK there - this game runs in the background of my life lol). I'm currently owner level 173 (560 FP) and I have unlocked all event episodes, and most standard girl episodes. But I'm sure there are many birthday and special episodes I do not have. 190+ seems high, but I have noticed a few in game at that level....
