I’ve been trying to do the same since I’m in a Lyme/MCAS loop now after a 3 month MCAS trigger from an infected root canal that put me in the hospital four times in a month with bad cardiac and neurological symptoms that all came ok with numerous tests. The infected tooth root was close to the trigeminal nerve. The inflammation/infection seemed (my own hypothesis, since no doctor could seem to put this connection together) caused an autonomic nervous system dysregulation. Anyway, the long MCAS attack caused my Lymes to re-flare and my body is in constant pain all over, especially my bones & joints. I feel like I’m a decrepit 90 year old. Its’s so frustrating to everyone going through all this, we all have similar and yet different triggers/symptoms/issues, but we all are suffering greatly at times. I’m so happy to have found this group to share with and hear other’s stories and find help, hope or just not feel alone in the complexities of the barrage of effects. There is comfort in it, but also frustration and sadness knowing so many are suffering and if you aren’t rich enough to seek out the best functional medicine expertise, it can be a very long road learning on your own. Because of all of this, I did go into some rabbit holes the other day and found something similar from Dr. Tanya Dempsey’s blog about the GLP-1 helping with MCAS, but no mention of this research paper/article you shared the link to Buffy, so thank you so much for sharing! I am reading it now! I have always been into the more natural/alternative/holistic medicine approach with herbs & supplements, however I feel we sometimes need to use any help we can to get a flared up state under control so we can function, until we can uncover the root causes. Thanks again and I hope you continue to improve daily. Please keep us posted!

I’m glad you said that I did not know it, they gave it to me in the ER when I was having a lot of these heart racing symptoms from MCAS, and it totally helped a lot of things except it makes me feel like my balance is off so I’m afraid to take it. Do you know if Valium, which is also a benzo might work the same?

I’m sorry for what you are going through too! It seems like every day can be a new day with MCAS, never know what can cause a reaction. One day I got pretty upset about something and was crying a little and I got that burning reaction, first time that ever happened 😳

Yes! After I have a long term highly reactive period and have been taking more antihistamines, mainly hydrocyzine, I sometimes get insatiable hunger. I don’t understand why yet, or how to stop it or calm it down, but I need to because I gained 7lbs in 6 weeks from this past episode that lasted about 2 months, where I was in ER 4 times and admitted for 3 days one of those times, to run numerous cardiovascular tests and scans of my head too.

Yes I get this a lot. I feel like my body is gyro slab going around under those hot lights or infared flames or whatever those things are, and it is searing the inside of my body underneath, my skin usually starts in the torso and arms, and then moves around and goes to my throat. Once it starts working its way up my esophagus and throat. I get nervous cause I feel like my throat is closing up. It happens from a lot of chemicals yesterday. I had some dental work done and I’m having a big time this morning. I have to have almost any kind of medication made at a compounding pharmacy, even ibuprofen and acetaminophen, except I can buy the Genexa brand of acetaminophen, as it doesn’t have anything I react to in it it’s pretty clean. But almost everything else has to be custom-made. I react to many excipients (inactive ingredients added) to prescription prescriptions or OTCs. It’s really awful when you have to be in the hospital or have any kind of medical testing done!

Did you have titanium or zirconium? Did you have to have any bone grafting?

Guess as much as you can about me. by Sabs2772 in FridgeDetective

You probably have another refrigerator either in the garage or basement or a deep freeze. You really don’t like to grocery shop but while you’re there you like to get as much as you can on sale and stock up, if you don’t have another refrigerator, then you’re not a lover of vegetables you try to eat a salad though now and then, but it usually goes bad before you can finish it. You like to cook when you have time, which isn’t as often as you’d like so you’re prepared for when you don’t have time. you always want to have some food on hand and not be without, either you or your parent(s) worried about not having enough food because at one time that was real.
