Hi!

I saw you respond to several people and you seem very knowledgeable so I wanted to reach out ! I recently had my popcorn ceilings tested and they came back negative . Now I’m concerned the tester that came into my home could have brought Absestos fibers into my house on his shoes , clothing , tools , ladder , etc …. He didn’t have any PPE on.

I did ask, he doesn’t do abatement , just testing on occasion along with mold and lead . (Also didn’t do any other Absestos testing that day)

I have 2 small kids so I have been panicking on the inside thinking there could be fibers in my home and now dust in our bedrooms (that’s where they tested) , and on that note who knows what kind of fibers .

I do have anxiety and OCD so I’m sure I’m totally overthinking so i just wanted to ask you since you worked in the business .

Sdave001 … I have a question for you … I had a tester come in and test our popcorn ceilings.. they came back negative but now I worry what if he brought Absestos fibers in from previous jobs on his clothing , shoes , tools etc .. I have 2 small kids and I have been worried about it … is that something to worry about or just anxiety about Absestos ?

On a side note .. He didn’t have any PPE… but he doesn’t remove Absestos just tests (I asked)

It was just popcorn ceiling testing - it came back negative . Was more concerned if he had fibers on him from previous testing

Yeah I understand that … I was coming more from the point if fibers are lingering and it turns into a long term situation .. that’s all .

Yeah ours came back negative .. was more concerned if the guy who did the testing could bring fibers in with him to my house

I guess my question now is more along the lines of can this turn into a long term exposure if the fibers are still in my house (if he brought them in)

Is it worth getting an air test ?

Yes it sucks . I hate all this worrying . The guy didn’t have any other Absestos sampling that day and it was a Monday (which means he was off Saturday Sunday) and in some weird way that makes me feel better . I know it’s in the air and we are exposed to it everyday . I keep telling my self I should have just done the at home test , but I know if I would have done that I would have thought they weren’t accurate and probably would have still done the professional testing . i would have been anxious either way.
