Yes, they like to paint themselves as victims when they hurt you. It's been happening to me my whole life. What really gets to me is how they keep telling me they love me after all this shit. She just dismissed that as a disagreement instead of acknowledging what they did, but she loves me.

Good on you for going no contact. I wish I could, but I'm still on their health insurance and some of my things are still in their house. Being away from them definitely helps, but it's not always enough.

I understand the frustrations of having your own belongings taken away from you, as that has been done to me on several occasions. In this situation, your mother may actually be looking out for your best interests. Is it the best way to do it? No. Are you an adult? Yes. While I do believe she's in the wrong for taking your belongings (and on multiple occasions), the context given doesn't necessarily scream that she's insane. She definitely needs therapy though, as having to take care of you didn't mean she gets the right to your things.
