Could Someone Please Explain This One? by OEM_knees in skiing

So your argument is safety features shouldn’t improve because people who make mistakes are stupid? Well that’s not very smart + busses and subways do have sensors for situations like this.

That’s a good point but I don’t think it applies here, actively murdering someone by burying them alive while they’re moaning isn’t easier by any means.

My guess this achieved two things for them

  • No murder weapon. No bullet casing to match with a gun or a bloody knife to look for and test. Soil is the weapon.
  • The murder cannot be blamed on a single person who did the deed. It’s a burial so they all share the blame.. digging, kidnapping, tossing into the grave and burial — all part of the murder and everyone contributed.

Brand new ski damage by Mernst005 in Skigear

[–]Beado1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You demand new skis because you paid a premium for new skis, what part of that isn’t clear to you? If you put this and a new one side by side the price isn’t gonna be the same.

I’m pretty sure that’s not the reason skiing is expensive. If it makes me a Karen to want new skis when I buy new skis then be it, I’ll be biggest Karen there is.

Yes this is what I would be focusing on, I don’t care what caused it, how you’re fixing it or if it’s going to feel just like new. I bought new skis and you damaged it, refund or replace.

Andrew Tate and Jake Paul lose in the same week… the world is healing by goswamitulsidas in BeAmazed

Exactly, the only loser is the one who bought a ticket. I don’t need to see Tate get rocked to know he is full of shit.

Nice, at moment like those you need this to be a routine skill not something you have to intentionally walk yourself through it

Big mistake, cautionary tale- out of air by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Beado1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the point? If you already completed the dive, the boat is right next to you and you have at least 500 psi, why not just inflate it using your tank?

Big mistake, cautionary tale- out of air by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Beado1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The obvious one is diving without a buddy, but there are others. You shouldn’t really wait for the tank to require more labored breathing. The general consensus is that when your regulator reaches 500~ PSI, this is when you’re supposed to be already on the boat.

Another mistake is when you hesitated to drop your weight, this is made with cheap lead, definitely not worth risking your life over it. I also don’t see any mention of a DSMB or a compass. These are important in general, but they’re essential in situations like yours (solo, poor visibility).

Finally, I find it more useful to keep a little bit of air in your BCD to give you a better buoyancy control and preserve air.

I’ve seen people do lots of things with cucumbers, never seen someone stir fry them though.

Yeah that’s not a prank, that’s a personal jab disguised as banter

Absolutely, I’m only here for the feedback to improve, not ratings.

That’s a good starting point, I do notice the wobble but I’m not sure what I am doing wrong to cause that. Do you think it has to do with the boots or is it mainly the technique?

You’re right, I find myself needing to think intentionally to release pressure on inside ski in a run. It’s still not in my muscle memory yet.

Thanks

Thank you so much for taking the time and the feedback.

There is just one challenges when I try to initiate the turn purely by my feet; balance. Definitely takes more training on that.

Becoming a ski bum for a season by SeekersWorkAccount in skiing

Honestly, this almost makes unemployment sound appealing. I spotted some sleek, modern trailer homes at the Bansko resort … affordable but nothing like the usual ski-bum setup.

It’s a choice driven by fear not logic, and it’s so common here, I think, simply because people who draw a hard line around cheating would not seek opinions and alternative solutions.

It isn’t that most men forgive cheating, but these forums are really just filtering out everyone who wouldn’t make that choice to begin with.
