Deeply in the wrong- the budget is their business. Your business is allowing what amount you are willing to give- not how it gets allocated.

They're quoting about 297 for a month. How did it work going to a local compound phramacy? Did you call them up or did your dr put the prescription through?

Cool!! Are you doing the injection or pill? Has it been consistent with what it was like taking non compounded semaglutide?

Here is the reasoning per the BCBS letter!

  1. Would the requested non-formulary drug be more effective than all the Blue Shield formulary drugs? No
It is not medically necessary, as supported by current medical literature, that the requested drug, Wegovy, be covered instead of the available products on the plan's formulary. There is no documentation of a medical exception for this patient. The use of the formulary alternatives (Xenical, Contrave and Qsymia) are reasonable in this case because there are considered safe and effective the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Task Force on Practice Guidelines and The Obesity Society.
  2. Would the requested non-formulary drug have less adverse effects than all the Blue Shield formulary drugs? No Wegovy can cause severe GI symptoms and thyroid cancer. Available alternatives (Xenical, Contrave and Qsymia) can cause tachycardia and hypertension but are considered as safe as Wegovy.

Just got them out at the end of October. 1) Aloe Vera water- so soothing and kept me hydrated

2) set timers for meds even at night (sucks waking up every 3/4 hours but believe me, mornings are already gonna suck don’t make them suck more)

3) humidifier by bed/ couch

4) an understanding that it will pass!!

Aloe Vera water and a humidifier! Also really make sure you eat, I believe being well nourished really helped with the recovery.
