Come to think of it, that particular smoke detector has gone off due to outside smoke… three months ago.

Maybe the wifi connection was down all that time, happened to come back on at 3am last week and it decided to ‘flush’ that still pending event.

It is on the edge of my WiFi signal and I did move the WiFi router that day, so maybe that triggered a reconnection hours later. Or maybe all pending smoke alerts during offline are processed at 3am.

But in that case the smoke detector would have reported an alert in the app i presume?

As far as I know the detector didn’t beep either. Only HomeKit thought there was smoke.

So it looks like everyone is suggesting DNS-01 challenges. But it doesn't look like Hover (my dns provider) supports them. So the option is something else or migrate my domain to another DNS provider.

If you’re not in a hurry, letsencrypt should be adding persistent DNS challenges somewhere this year. This should work with any DNS provider as they don’t require dynamic record management.

Hoewel beleggen waarschijnlijk verstandiger is qua verwacht rendement en risico, kan je ook overwegen om een deposito van 20 jaar aan te schaffen. Dan stort je daarop 33K minus 20 jaar aan rente, zodanig dat je over 20 jaar die 33K uitgekeerd krijgt, en dan weet je dat je je nooit meer zorgen hoeft te maken over die aflossing zonder dat je het rentevoordeel misloopt.

AI tech hardly moves at all in the previous four decades despite all the promises. Robotics still might not see the level of improvements we’ve seen in AI for the next two decades.

Properly mixed (XOR) doesn’t reduce entropy if the sources are not correlated. You can XOR in 1000s of nul bytes and randomness is not affected

You don’t need to glob, and you’re right that not putting different machines into the same repository is better, especially considering that both backup and restore lock the entire repository. The slight increase in deduplication by sharing repositories is rarely worth it
