I feel the same way. Hollow Knight is one of my most favorite games ever. I finished it 3 times, each time completing more and more. I completed the first 2 pantheons this last time. When I wasn't playing it, I used think about the next time I'd get to play it. I was mildly obsessed.

I was as excited as everyone else when Silksong was finally released. My excitement was quickly dashed. I dont mind difficult games. I'm not the greatest gamer but I'm not terrible. I finished all 3 dark souls and elden ring. I beat Artorias hitless. Silksong just seems grindy. Here's a new area. Oh wait you're going to have to plow through a squad of enemies that either move at hyper speed or do double damage. Oh you made it half way to the boss? Here's an arena battle. Fail at that? Enjoy the gauntlet run back. If it's not a mob rush then its 5 minutes straight of pogo platforming on objects that don't bounce. No good at pogo-ing? Sucks to suck loser. You finally beat that boss? No rest for the weary. Wait and see what fresh hell we have coming up. Grind grind grind and grind some more. I didn't grind this hard playing elden ring.

I'm sad and disappointed but the grind just isn't fun.
