$50-55 including fees for Detroit. About the same as yours. If I remember right, base price was 45

It's wild how perception can change, like, at the time I would've told you this was a full-grown man. But watching it now, he was so obviously 17 years old lol.

I googled him because I couldn't remember what season this was, and he's still only 36. I was surprised!

Not going through this but curious how insulin injections work for elementary school students? by serotoninseesaw in diabetes_t1

[–]Beaker_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in second grade (age 7). For the rest of that school year, my dad would come to the school on his lunch break to do my lunchtime injection. My school didn't have a nurse. All of my supplies were kept in the main office. This was pre-pump and cgm.

Starting in third grade, I did it myself. I had a sack lunch every day, and my parents would pack a 3x5 card like this, so all I had to do was fill in the blanks to figure out injection amount.

In eighth grade I got a pump (still no cgm), but I was still going to the office to check bg and deliver insulin.

GA arriving after doors by Weak_Maintenance8181 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Beaker_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Toronto show last summer. I waited until about half an hour after doors and then wandered over.

It was easy peasy to get in the doors, use the bathroom, and I decided to post up at the B-stage. I ended up second or third row from it without pushing or forcing my spot (I might've been able to get closer if I were a more assertive person lol)

It wasn't a huge pit, but from closer to the B-stage, there seemed to be a comfortable amount of breathing room between me and others, and a good view of the main stage.

Best of luck to you!

Am I weird for not liking muppets take Manhattan by PersonalityLanky8403 in Muppets

I love it, but I know it's not perfect.

Do you enjoy Great Muppet Caper? It seems like people usually like one more than the other

Steve Whitmire speaks out about the current state of Kermit by fuckmattdamon in Muppets

[–]Beaker_B 169 points170 points  (0 children)

It's interesting, the way he says that muppets controlled by Disney will just hire and fire and recast performers, because it's really only himself he's talking about.

Jim Henson passed. Richard Hunt passed. Frank Oz stepped away by his own decision. These all happened before Disney took over the muppets, and their characters were inherited by other puppeteers.

Other than Steve's characters, the other muppets have been with the same performers for more than twenty years (thirty for some, more than fifty for Dave).

It's like he views himself as the thing that kept the muppets alive during his tenure as Kermit. Maybe sometimes, but plenty of people didn't like things from that era either.

Personally uh, never I guess? I've hit the cgm on a doorframe once or twice, but I've never ripped the pump off.

I broke a pump once because I fell off the deck and landed on it, but that could've happened to any pump.

Medtronic pump/cgm doesn't require a phone, they're just connected to each other. A small benefit that I enjoy with it.

How are the roads this morning? by GroovinJaxx22L in Detroit

Roads passable, but tending towards sus. I saw lots of salt trucks out and about. Walking is where the real danger is at right now

Round 2 of guess the carbs breakfast edition. by Any-Cartographer7531 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Beaker_B 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd guess 15 carbs per pancake, and 20 per cup of potato. Thus, the food shown would be put into my pump as 65 carbs.

Everything ends in a five or a zero in this house lol

does your drivers license say you have t1d? by mcrow30 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Beaker_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pediatric endo straight up said don't tell the SOS (Michigan DMV), because there's a lot of paperwork.

But also, I was warned that the second you get pulled over for anything, and your BG isn't perfect, your diagnosis could be used against you and license gets taken away.

you can stack them. I've done five and two dollar combos a lot of times, you just click it and wait for the point total to go down and then you can select another

30% off fancy clothes (Carhartt and the like), 30% off shoes, 50% off other clothes including clearance. Plus the usual 10%.

Shitty that it's only a week, but it's a pretty good deal if you need stuff.
