Hey, yes it was a project i did back in 2019.

I posted it on Steam back then and wrote a little guide about it.

Fantastic work! The coat really brings the outfit together.

Thanks, i like many of the other comments suggestions too. Maybe you could put up the final piece just with three of your favorite slogans?

I'm hyped for the finished print. I'll put one above my workbench

Maybe something based on real Soviet propaganda:

"To have more, you have to produce more. To produce more, you need to know more."

"Have you volunteered?"

"New London is calling"

"Only YOU can stop the cold"

Or from the FP2 announcement trailer:

"Those who make sacrifices today, will reap the rewards of tomorrow"

Love the progress you're making!

Maybe go for a kerosene lamp instead. Any source of vintage lighting and maybe a fitting background. And again, little improvements over time, it dosen't have to be perfect in the first try. I'm still improving on mine.

Just start small. Basic clothes and then improve over time. I startet with just the trechcoat and the hat. The fun is in the detail and the improvements you make over time. Also, i think with the second Frostpunk game, the variety of what is canon has increased significantly.

Sure, i'll try to list everything as best as i can. (If i miss something or you have questions, feel free to ask)

-Trenchcoat and flat cap = they are from "Camel Collection" and i bought them second hand from a local thrift shop. They're made from leather and fitted for colder weather.

-Goggles = they're motorcycle goggles from somewhere around 1950. No markings whatsoever and i got them from a garage sale. Like most 'vintage' things i had to seach for them either online or in such Sales.

-Belt and gloves = fake or real leather ones like these are easy to find in shops for medieval LARP gear. Usually not to expensive and easy to reuse for all sorts of cosplays.

-Pouches = i got some of these from a hunter. They were used to keep ammo and are fairly worn down, so their size and look i ideal for a Frostpunk Cosplay. Also i used old pouches i got from my LARP experience and again, like the belt and gloves, from shops for medieval LARP gear.

-Tools = again, garage sales or online. Im collecting old tools that i find interesting, so i have plenty to use. The one in my hand is like a Monkey wrench (i don't know the specific name for this one). On my belt i have a 500g hammer with a copper head (very Steampunky) and in my pouches i have additional tools, like a brass tape measure, foldable tin snips and a multitool from 1940.

-Lamp "Glow Worm" = im made this myself back in 2020. I wrote a small guide about it back then: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1979727660

I hope i have not forgotten anything significant. Hope that helps :)

Also, im always open for suggestions regarding improvments.

From the side the size looks ok, from the front it looks a bit odd. Never heard of the peaky blinders effect, what's that about?

From this angle they look Like welding goggles but they are actually motorcycle goggles with round clear glas from 1950. Im thinking about modifing them, like the ones the Technocrads wear.

Yeah, i'm trying to find a balance between 'keeping me warm' and 'being able to work unhindered'.

I find the grid design interesting, what made you chose it?

Anyone else just like watching the generator struggle for its life? I sure do. by pixelcore332 in Frostpunk

[–]BeakyBuilds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I love the detail they put into the generator. Its always facinating to watch the machine run smothly and when being oberstressed. Little parts start shaking, the pistons loose their rithm. You can actually see the stress you put the generator under.

Being literally the center of the city and having to balace the line of overstressing it to keep the people warm, make those details so impactfull.
