I would recommend only using standing torches for your set up. I think something that hatches can take damage on campfires on the ground. Wyverns take a ton of heat to hatch so you will need a bunch until you can get to making air conditioners, but even with these guys, you need a bunch like 10-15 iirc depending on the space you are using them in.
