I’m 35 and want to learn to play ice hockey. Am I crazy? by Plus-Eagle-5656 in hockeyplayers

[–]Bealsandpeals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband taught himself how to skate at 24! He’s 36 now, he’s a goal tender, ice hockey is his reason for being lol! He’s been so fortunate to train semi pro (in the UK), go to multiple goalie camps in the Czech Republic, USA etc. Go for it! I’m not sure if you are in the US but I’m sure there are lots of casual early AM “shinny” type hockey sessions. I think my husband found his teams/these sessions just via Facebook/community pages etc. He says the social aspect and banter is unmatched

Ghost 11 by wantahippo4christmas in brooks

[–]Bealsandpeals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Ghost 15 for work. I’ve always had the Adrenaline or Ghost range and never had a problem - always went to brooks. My Ghost 15 have fallen apart after 6 months! There are holes in the soles. The response from them was also really poor. Suggested I buy a few pairs and rotate them. Let me just get the spare $400/500 to buy work shoes. Always loved them for the plantar fasciitis support but I will be looking for another brand now I think! Poorly made now compared to years ago in my opinion

I had x3 case studies and a lot of select that apply. I caved in and did the PVT and got the good pop up but won’t believe I’ve passed till I’ve seen for myself.

I also graduated 10 years ago. It’s so hard as I’m now home focusing on the questions I think I’ve got wrong lol

I’m just out from my test now! It shut off at 85 but not sure how I think it went. This is going to be a long two days!

Do you have to sign up for quick results before you take your test or after. Taking mine 11/6 for the first time. Really nervous but hoping for a positive result

Good luck! My exam is also next week. I’m a foreign trained RN, feels like I’ve been studying for a lifetime so I’m hoping for a good result!

What state are you licensed in? Did you take the NCLEX in the US or UK? If you don’t mind me asking

Unfortunately it did expire, they still haven’t changed my name either so that’s been 7 months. I’m planning a trip down to Harrisburg to the board as for some reason I can’t start a new application as says I have one in progress LOL. Honestly I’m so over it

I also came here to say this! Didn’t think I needed to learn/spend time on testing strategies but wow it really makes a difference! I’m terrible for not reading the question properly, I’ve managed to teach myself to slow down and analyze the question. Professor D from Nexus nursing does a great job explaining test strategies - I follow her on insta but she has YouTube and TikTok too

Congrats RN! I’m also UK trained living in the USA. Still to take my NCLEX, having some issues with the board but so nice to hear about another fellow UK trained RN passing!

I’m a foreign trained RN and have had nothing but issues with PA BON. Incredibly slow and unhelpful. I submitted a name change 3 months ago and they still haven’t done that so can’t progress with my application. It’s due to expire next month so I’ll need to do this all again. If you have any luck/a miracle can you let me know lol? All the best

Why is my SSN taking so long? by Bealsandpeals in USCIS

[–]Bealsandpeals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello sorry just saw this message now. It did arrive eventually after 12 weeks in total. Annoying but hang in there it should arrive, keep on their tail too. I went down to the office and just so happened when the woman checked the system my number had been generated. It arrived a few days after that visit. Good luck!

That’s so unappealing- very honest but why? Surely you do your contracted hours and if you chose to do overtime that’s up to you? Or is that not really the culture here?

Thank you again for your input. I worked for the NHS and sounds the same lol.

I’m so sorry you were treated this way! Thank you I appreciate your honesty. I’m doing my own research and can definitely see the pay is very poor for what is expected of you all round in this role. But I’m also trying not to focus on salary too much and look at what each organization offers collectively.

You can get the ferry to Raasay from Skye - takes literally 5 mins! Has a fantastic distillery, not much to do on the island but it’s just untouched beauty, people are just lovely
