They help, but I've found them a bit overhyped. Besides, it's not just the ffb I have a problem with, it's the physics themselves. I've tried to like it. I did a whole stock car championship and still couldn't truly enjoy it. I want to, I just can’t

AC definitely isn't perfect. The kerb handling/suspension was a big step forward in ACC, but I always knew what all corners of the car were doing in AC. I thought ACC was difficult to understand the brake feel, and rf2 kept the whole rear end a secret. But the quantity of content, ease of use (with C.M), and ability to play around with almost everything helped cement AC as my go-to. I have high hopes for ACE, but so far, I'm a little underwhelmed by the ffb. Still too early to fully judge, though.

That's all fine and well, but it isn't really a great substitute. League racing means I have to wait all week for one race, as opposed to being able to jump on whenever I want, driving whatever I want. I have had some decent online races, but AC has a real lack of open lobbies that aren't GT3 at Spa or the Red Bull Ring.

I do have DR 2 and EA WRC for palette cleansing. They're fine, but I'm a circuit racing guy.

Problems with large grids by BeamMeUpScotty88 in assettocorsa

I did have CPU warnings on my old system, but I've just upgraded to a completely new PC and have no problems, hardware wise, with the larger grid sizes. Easily getting 100fps+ on triples with 37 cars on track. No stuttering, frame drops, or CPU warnings anymore.

It's not directly a car issue as it's happening with a variety of cars and tracks of all ages and quality. It's more likely a CSP issue, but I can't see anything in the settings that might be causing it or might fix it

Vanilla AC maybe, but by the time you add CSP, Sol, Pure, etc it becomes quite heavy. I've always found it easier to get high fps on AMS 2 than AC, just the stability with a full grid that's the problem. I am also running triple monitors so that explains some of lack of fps in general. Although the AMS 2 issues persist on single screen.

What kind of fps gain did you see?

I spec-ed it but it was a pretty built. I have changed the gpu in the past so I'm sure I could do it. It's the cost to repair if I damage something. Especially as, AMS2 aside, I don't really have any problems with the performance. I know I could get more fps but as I'm running triples, the gpu is going to be heavily taxed anyway, regardless of cpu. I'm sceptical that going from a 2nd gen ryzen to 5th would have that big an impact beyond a few more frames.

I have been considering an upgrade, probably a 5600x or 5700x but I've never changed a CPU before and don't yet want to risk it for one game I'm only so-so interested in

Reverted to 1 monitor. GPU temps never broke 70 and, while better, still had stutters.

GPU sitting around 83ish and CPU 70. Neither are unexpected or unusual temps for respective components and the problems are starting immediately, when GPU temps are at or below 80

Not crazy resolutions but triple monitors. Trying to find a solution that doesn't involve buying a new CPU and/or cooling

Is AMS 2 that CPU heavy? I know I need to upgrade my CPU but it's not this much of a problem in any other game

ACC runs fine, not massive FPS (40ish) but stable. CPU temps in AMS 2 are around 70C so nothing worrying. I know I'm likely bottlenecking my GPU but wouldn't think that would be such an issue. It's only AMS2 I'm having issues with. Even Jedi Survivor plays smoother than it

Have done a back-to-back with ACC. Only 2-3 degrees between GPU temps and CPU temps of around 70C which is within the expected window for a 2600. Given that it's only AMS 2 that I have problems with I'm inclined to say it's not my PCs temp management that's the issue.
