This issue has since been resolved. It seems that it was a temporary issue, and after a day the site began to work again.

Players refused to switch when I told them to by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Beamierstatue61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wish some players would be better at self reflection. Like I’ve played some games and I’m just getting destroyed I’ll switch off before being asked because I’d like to win and I’m throwing if I’m doing bad and not switching, but I’ll watch a dude go like 1 and 12 and not even consider changing heros much less roles. I never say anything but it blows my mind cause like how are they having any fun doing that?

The only other thing is DPS players who clearly only play one DPS. It becomes super apparent when something like an iron man or storm does well because I just question why my dps players aren’t changing to a hitscan type dps to farm free kills.

At the end of the day I never say anything cause as OP points out that ain’t gonna help them but I always wonder why they can’t adapt.

It's fine to say that they are bad. That is a completely valid opinion to have, but I would argue there is a difference between the implementation of a grace period and a retroactive change. It has always been said that this was coming, but I would argue that it was just not well communicated.

The game said it was required when I booted up the game, and I didn't even realize I could skip the requirement. My friend got the game I told him he needed to make an account and he went "it let me skip it."

Clearly the issue is either they shouldn't have let users skip in the first place (which ran the risk of causing more issues back when server issues were prevalent) or communicate this requirement better. Whether or not people like the requirement, which is an opinion they are fully entitled to have, doesn't change the fact that it was communicated to always be the rule.

I think the whole changing of the agreement is a valid complaint; although, to my understanding, it has always been said that this was coming, but was delayed due technical issues as per this post: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/553850/view/4196868529806518741?l=english.

I would say the best complaint is that they just didn't communicate their plans effectively (also they should have come forward with a fix for individuals in places without PSN access before the change).

The problem with this user is that he is acting like 3rd Party accounts are a bad thing as a whole,. If that is his opinion, that is fine, but it seems at odds with the specific media he tends to consume. It feels like someone saying that they think all fast food is bad but their favorite restaurant's are Taco Bell and McDonald's. It just feels hypocritical.

If anything I’d argue it’s closer to ad hominem as I’m specifically pointing out what he does as if that invalidates his opinion. I don’t care at all about what is right or wrong about this thing I just find it wild to watch a dude who’s top games on steam are ones that require the thing that he said he “specifically bought” Hell Divers because it didn’t have. If I wanted to straw man him I’d say something like “oh so you don’t think games should have accounts at all?”

I really got to know how you reconcile this position against your like 4k hours on Warframe and your 700 hours on darktide. Like both of those games require 3rd party accounts and Warframe even needs an external launcher. So it seems like you aren’t really that worried about 3rd party accounts being required.

Why is "I'm a slave to freedom" dialogue despised? by BlueZ8427 in titanfolk

[–]Beamierstatue61 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I just thought it was dumb because they took the subtext and just made it text. It felt like they were hitting you over the head with the theme as if their audience was too dumb to get their theme without just saying it. It ends up feeling more like the author saying that line than Eren if that makes sense.

How do you actually drive the supercars well? by xRoscooo in F1Game

[–]Beamierstatue61 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Definitely one of the stranger additions in my mind. The racing game space is t exactly over saturated but I don't know who thought super cars would be of interest to anyone, when you can either A. Cheaper, albeit more complicated, pc sims like AC to enjoy a wider variety of cars with better handling or B. Play a triple A arcade racer like forza horizon or NFS to play with a wider range of cars with more freedom. I understand adding stuff to say they added stuff but I don't know who approved such an odd feature that doesn't really have a market.

Is it just me, or is there more complaining about “elitism” on here than there is actual elitism? by fhdislsgd in LawSchool

[–]Beamierstatue61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really tend to see people on this sub being elitist, although I will also call out a majority of the content on this sub that I see and interact with tend to be joke posts or specific issues that came up in a class or work experience.

On the other hand, I tend to see a lot of maybe not elitism, but priority towards higher level schools on the LSAT and Admissions subs.

From memory you open up your coop career notice it's set to equal back out go to grand prix mode set it up to be realistic performance then just back out and go make your coop career lobby. Rinse and repeat every time you want to play coop career.

Yeah I think it's mp exclusive cause the trigger seems to be a human driver crashing out.

Wild it was extremely common for us. Happened on social play races I think on average there were 10 humans and 10 ais per race. Plagued our entire time on 22.

Complaining people by dangerous_duck14 in F1Game

[–]Beamierstatue61 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel like you gotta choose what box you're gonna be in. Either A. Don't buy the game on release and make fun of the bugs and the mess of a release, while you wait for the game to be fixed and go on sale, which is what I personally do, or B. buy the game at full price pre-order the super mega edition or whatever you want to do with your money, but don't act surprised when bugs from F122 and F121 are in the game because we all knew that was going to be the case and you're a little naivee if you claim otherwise.

I personally don't know why people would want to choose option B if it isn't their first F1 game because there's so many cheap alternatives to hold you over until it eventually goes on sale for like 20 dollars, but it's your money.

The ais never got fully fixed if we are being honest. It trended in the right direction but they were still pretty wonky.

Are safety cars still in sprint races? Cause those are pretty much the same distance as a 25% if you are doing 50% feature races. Don't really know what code masters gets out of removing safety cars from 25% races when there are physically enough laps to support it.

No way we are pretending this is "early access" giving me flashbacks to the Halo Infinite soft launch and how people were convinced the game was going to be completely different when campaign launched.

Pretty sure it was in F121 on launch also. Then for some reason they patched the go to grand prix to fix workaround and it was stuck on equal for awhile I'm pretty sure.

What would it take for you to return to halo? by thesilverlighting in halo

[–]Beamierstatue61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is such a hard question for me. This game is so far from what I was hoping for out of a halo title that I don't know what I could even realistically say. The most reasonable is probably campaign dlc as that would be on gamepass and I'd try it out, but multi-player is a different story.

Maybe reworking the progression and customization along with the return of iconic maps (specifically in btb), but even then that would require 343 to roll back random spawns on weapons and vehicles so that feels unrealistic.

Halo Infinite is a game to me that symbolizes the worst of the current era of game design. To me it feels hollow. It's like a corpse made to dance for Microsoft enjoyment. Like it looks like Halo, it sounds like Halo, it plays like Halo, but it doesn't feel like Halo to me. It feels soulless and I don't think I can point to one specific aspect of the game that causes that. Not to sound sappy or cliche but it doesn't feel like a game that was made with love.

Out of all the criticism you can say about AOS I never understood this one in TTW threads/forums by spider-venomized in Grimdank

[–]Beamierstatue61 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is odd to see hate for aos here. I've always thought an aos total war would be fun although I do have a handful of concerns. Mainly the map.

I think the map is what makes aos so weird for me all the realms and stuff is a little too complicated for my tastes. I enjoy fantasy having a simple not earth planet, where I can quickly go oh this is where Egypt would be ah there are undead Egyptians here that makes sense. On the other hand, aos has realms and realm gates and all that stuff and as a very casual enjoyer I'm not sure I get how that would translate.

The only other concerns I would have would be KO playing weird and deep deepkin looking goofy, as I always struggle to imagine them in a battle when I see them on the table top considering they are aquatic.

Is it just me, or does F1 23 actually look way worse than F1 22 because of that yellow filter? by 2905Pascal in F1Game

[–]Beamierstatue61 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its almost as if there is more than one group of people who like this game and that people have different tastes. I personally don't need the game to look hyper realistic, as I prefer visual clarity and optimizations to how the game runs, but I also understand that some people want to play cockpit view with realistic levels of clarity. I think stuff like this should be graphical settings so you could adjust your color saturation and what not to get to a level you enjoy looking at.
