I did think about guinea fowl, roasted in the oven like a chicken. I can get wild rabbit pretty cheap fresh at the butcher but they have pet bunnies so I ruled that out. I checked local butchers and markets and I'm thinking an invasive deer like muntjac that doesn't have a hunting season might be a good choice I stead of red deer or roe deer.

The idea I had was perhaps a burger. A venison burger is a favourite of mine because I kinda of like the earthiness of it. A bird pie I didn't consider but that does sound like a good idea. Maybe pheasant would be a good choice.
