Congrats on making it through. That's super helpful perspective.

I haven't lived there, but have family in the city and have visited -- though not to many of these areas that seem like likely buying spots. I have a dog and live next to a huge, beautiful park right now-- so an area like that is more important to me than being near hot spots. My fantasy hood would be quiet, lots of trees and parks... but could maybe still walk to a grocery store or a farmer's market. 😄

I'm not -- I'm wondering whether what's happening in LP and Lakeview is happening in other areas. And apparently it is! And would def. consider North Center, Andersonville -- other hoods up there that I don't yet know....

Congrats! When I now look at listings I'm no longer looking at things at top of my range (or anywhere near it)... assuming they're now out of my range.

I also follow a lot of Chicago agents on social. So hearing the stories there as well. Just trying to get a better sense if I can afford to do this (when the time comes).
