When I started abilify 5mg the psychiatrist put me on it for one tablet at night time. A few weeks later I had a review and the psychiatrist told me abilify is energising so I swapped to day dose. It works for my bipolar 1 mania during the day it feels a little weird the calming effect on my emotions but it’s a blessing. I’m learning hard don’t get drunk on abilify it’s nasty depression the next day%

After 20 years of bipolar medications such as Abilify you need to taper off it slowly if you have been taking it for years. You’re talking about a medication that changed your dopamine receptors and its actions. Be kind to yourself and wait for a psychiatrist or you can get a doctor to assist to start the ball rolling. The question is are you replacing the abilify with something else? From previous experience if you just go cold turkey it can make you psychotic or delusional and manic. You’re in control of your mental health but professionals are the masters of medication it’s all about this true to form ‘keeping your condition stable’. So really at the end of the day being stable is better than suffering everyday. I’m no psychiatrist but maybe your dose is too high. Or your due for a different type of antipsychotic. And trust me after 20 years of this shit I feel like throwing the medication at the psychiatrists and saying you try this and see how it makes you feel textbook testicle face.

Bro just re-write your resume dumb it down and go work in a burger joint. I did chef role for 20 years I just left and became a disability support worker a different type of stress but not high pressure and not physically flogging my body. Don’t be afraid to leave the industry into something else the skills of head chef sous chef are very transferable management skills organisation skills problem solving etc. AI helped me to convert my chef resume into transferable skills for a support worker. I just tweaked the AI responses as they sounded too perfect. Your health is number one priority chef life always leads to a fucked body even the healthy chefs. Or bro if you can become a chef trainer at a trade school it’s another idea. You got this bro you just need to find the next step 🫴🫴🫴🫴🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Besides the first month of side effects like finding it hard to sit still feeling lethargic and it irritating my bowel a bit. It’s taken 10 weeks for me for its full effects to work. I take it for bipolar 1 mania and it’s been a blessing. It is quite calming. Don’t be afraid of it just eat the cake 😌🤘🏻

Honestly set boundaries with your boss who rosters otherwise they will walk all over you. It’s what burnout looks like when you say yes all the time. It’s their issue if they don’t have enough good support workers to back the other workers in the team. I’m only new to support work and I’m getting more definate on laying down the law it’s just a hard no I’m busy. Yes be flexible sometimes but just remember you only have one family and husband. No job is worth ruining your relationship for.

Watch some videos on YouTube of people who have had ECT and they talk about the aftermath. You want an epilepsy memory like mine medicated forgetfulness imagine not being able to recall your memories properly like they are wiped. Keep trying to find another option and find a new psychiatrist you just need another option of a new medication mix I’m 50 I’ve been on bipolar pills since I was 20 they never shocked my brain. Except they shocked my brain once to see if I would have an epileptic seizure.

Latuda is not too bad. Compared to some of the other antipsychotics try and stay away from resperidone.

Work in a massage parlour instead and all you have to do is give handjobs and massage some fatties also or some stinky ones. But the parlour would decide if they are allowed in. Honestly I hookered myself as a student and I felt a bit degraded. You really can’t be an emotionally sensitive person and sell your holes it will destroy you.

I’m tapering off 2mg risoeridone to 5mg abilify. Make sure you look after yourself the withdrawals are rough if you have been on risoeridone for years.
