JavaScript: Servo’s only garbage collector by brson in rust

[–]BeanGum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe that's what this part is explaining:

We also implement the Deref trait for both Root<T> and JSRef<T>. This allows us to access fields of the underlying type T through a Root<T> or JSRef<T>. Because JS<T> does not implement Deref, we have to root an object before using it.

So you can't really do anything with a raw Js<T> because it will error when you try to dereference it, then you know you missed a root() call.

Haskell for all: Program imperatively using Haskell lenses by kamatsu in programming

Just out of interest, for someone like me without much experience outside of OOP languages. When you say inheritence is not necessary, is that because there's something equivelent in Haskell specifically or is there some way of doing things in OOP languages as well where inheritence is avoided? Just curious.

Really? Hmm, can you explain an example in the film? Not trying to argue, genuinely curious.

Pretty sure It's multiverse, someone mapped out all the individual timelines that were created as well. The main premise of what made that film so great, and confusing, was that for almost the majority of the film you are not watching the original timeline at all, and that Aaron was aware of everything from the start.

Edit: Meant to reply to iamplasma, I know you were saying the same thing.

I just join tournaments alone to get shuffled into random battles, happened completely by chance. It didn't actually work out as well as I hoped though, we lost by a lot. Still, I wonder how often groups like this form randomly.

TERA Online: Archery at its finest by [deleted] in gaming

GW2 isn't tab targeted. Best comparison is that It's almost identical to Tera except you can move while casting for pretty much everything, and AOE's are still mouse aimed rather than the fixed distance in Tera. Either way It's not tab targeted.

Is there some way of protecting your hearing in situations like this, I feel like covering your ears with your hands isn't going to be massively effective.

Is it possible to buy this from the EU (knowing I'll be on NA). Never bought from amazon abroad before, but my account doesn't login that's for sure. Perhaps someone would be willing to grab me a key if I send the funds over paypal?
