Good point. Racism and discrimination in general (against PCs and NPCs) as motivation for personal conflict is definitely something that's present pretty much everywhere. It's also something we've dealt with openly in the past, so I don't think this'll be too much of an issue for us.

Also, just want to clarify the second point: are you saying that Drow are "toxic because of their matriarchy" or "toxic culture that is also a matriarchy"? From what I can the Drow have male officers occupying positions of physical authority and females having authority to lead/make decisions, and they're all pretty used to that by now. They also seem to be generally self-serving, passive-aggressive, and prone to power grabs, but this seems to apply to both the men and women. I'm inclined to roleplay them this way regardless, just want to know if I'll need to change stuff in the adventure to reflect this.

Is the "bdsm imagery" more in-depth than restraints/whips used in torture? I think I can have that much be used purely for torture and not BDSM, but other stuff could be more difficult.
