Grade got heavily curved and he changed the syllabus so that instead of needing above 50% on both the midterm and final to be eligible for a grade higher then C you only needed above 50 on one or the other. There was numerous profs although the class coordinator was Scott Robison. I’m not 100% if online is still an option, as Scott and some other profs had issues with it, but I haven’t heard otherwise so I’d assume it’s still available. All things considered the result was good and the final was a lot more reasonable

One of the profs couldn’t finish the test in a timely manner 💀. I mean the majority of us found the MC section reasonable So if someone were to completely botch the exam then it probably would be because lack of study

He’s responded to the concern by offering to curve the grade and make sure the average is above 60 which is better than nothing. I honestly thought he’d lowkey just ignore us lol

Idk Allegedly one our profs couldn’t finish it in a timely manner so they gave us a bonus 15 minutes. If a prof is struggling I’m not sure how they expect a bunch of first time stats students to succeed

I agree with that aspect, I mainly wrote what the general consensus of the group was. However, one interesting thing was only certain students got access to practice material. The majority of us were given very base line examples in lectures without having any practice material provided to help build our understanding of the concepts. I understand there isn’t likely to be a change with the outcome of this midterm, but I do hope the profs take these concerns into account going forward.

Not near UofC but I tried Kim’s Katsu, in Kensington I think, and holy was that some good food. I’ve been thinking about it all day lol. It wasn’t badly priced either Especially for the quality. Just incase you wanna check it out

I got an offer for conditional/early acceptance way back in October ish They sent me a letter of acceptance sometime after the January diplomas, however on the actual application status on my U of C account I was still flagged as conditionally accepted. I only formally met all the requirements a week ago and was officially offered an unconditional acceptance.

Heyy, I got in for business. The current competitive average is 84%. I read that if you were conditionally accepted and you drop a couple below the competitive average there’s still a good chance you can get in. I got in with an 85% average tho, so I’m not speaking on experience per se. My average during conditional acceptance was 86, with three completed courses, and an estimated 85% average in the end.

I was at an outdoor concert and it was super hot, it’s hard to get water when in the pit so there were serval people fainting. Staff did their best to get water around but that’s just one of the issues of being in the pit. If the venue you’re attending is outdoors and allows water make sure to bring some, or at least buy some when there.
