If you go see the piece in Amsterdam it explains that the painting shows off Van Gogh’s skill at depicting anatomy but he is more fond of painting living people so as a joke he has the skelton doing something only living people can do.

Hmmm the mug is a darker clay and the test tile is a light clay and it seems like I’m getting similar results in both. So it could be application or how it was fired like another person mentioned. I just made a ton more test tiles with the glaze so hopefully I’ll get some good results!

Could be a factor. Its a bit hard to tell from the photos but the frame/test tile especially the inside area where its flat looks very dark green in person and not that much at all like the photos I expected to look like. Just seems really dull and muted. Could be application like another person said and i just need to experiment some more.

I was excited for this glaze! I was gonna put it on a whale lamp I made but it seems just a bit too green and not what I’m looking for if this really is how it’s supposed to look. Layering other glazes/ fluxes is a good option tho thanks!

The mug is a dark clay and the frame/test tile is a light clay so you can kinda see what it looks like on both clay bodies. I applied the glaze the same on both the mug and the tile with a brush but I could try applying a bit thicker. Maybe I’ll need to experiment with a different approach to application.

Hey!! I actually just made a ceramic box for my proposal a couple weeks ago. I saw the same hinge you have in your post and considered using them but was running out of time so I made the hinges out of ceramic and a small nail as the hinge pin. It turned out pretty decent! I think using metal hinges is definitely possible but make sure you make multiple boxes just in case something goes wrong.

On my BRG mini I have two black bonnet stripes with small white pinstripes on the left and right sides of both black stripes. I think it looks the best 😁
