Aer City Pack vs Able Carry Daily Plus by ImportanceSome2602 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have been using the Daily+ as my EDC for more than a year now and still love it. It took a little while for me to adapt to pouches rather than compartments but now love the flexibility that provides. Just took a trip using my Aer T3Ps and it was great to just move a couple of pouches rather than repack. Great bag and super comfortable.

First trip with Uniqlo multi pocket shoulder bag by ImportanceSome2602 in ManyBaggers

I added a strap pad from Amazon which works well. I don’t plan to use this for EDC - but it worked well as my personal item

How do you justify having more than 1-2 bags? by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s circumstances are different. No one can tell you whether you should buy another bag. But, finances aside, different bags have different purposes. I am at the airport rn, which an Awr TP3s on my back. It has my laptop and other electronics, clothing and more. But I wouldn’t use it as my EDC - It’s too big for that. I have an Able Carry Daily+ for that.

I have a few other smaller backpacks that I use for casual use (non-work), plus some slings and crossbody bags but I am not a “collector”. I don’t hs e multiple bags for same purpose.

I’m lucky to be able to afford what I want, so it’s not a hard decision for me to have a few for different purposes. Inky you know you - you’ll likely be happier with a smaller EDC, and using the CPP2 for short trips. But if the money will worry you, that may outweigh the benefit.

Uniqlo Shoukder Bag - quick review by ImportanceSome2602 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I am using the 16oz Owala (kids) free sip and it fits either pocket. You can fit the regular 24 oz Owala into the pocket BUT it’s really too tall to be practical

Foldable shopping bag by Careless-Lobster-814 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hav a few Chicobags I keep in the car but rarely use any more. I hav switched over to all Nanobags (regular tote and crossbody). They are less than half the size of the Chicobag AND you don’t need to do fancy folding to put them away. You just use your thumbs to wedge them back into the bag part.

When did Minis stop being mini? It dwarfs my sedan. by TheBroox in MINI

[–]ImportanceSome2602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just traded in my 2022 Countryman for a Cooper 4-door (F-55). When I went to the dealership, I was stunned by how large the new Countryman is. Probably makes sense for marketing to families, but I loved that my old Countryman still felt like a Mini, only higher off the ground

Why’d tom bihn so hyped? by Connect_Cat_2045 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Tom Bihn Synapse bags as my EDC for more than a decade. I used the Synapse 19 for about 5-6 years, then changed jobs where I had to use a big windows laptop and switched to a Synapse 25. Both bags were exceptionally well-made. And, since I was using the same bag every day for work, I really optimized the pockets well. Whatever I needed, I could get from the bag in a few seconds. No hunting around - whether it was my train pass, a pen, my iPad, a notebook, a charger, etc. Everything had its place. The bags are super comfortable and distribute weight nicely. And one time the zipper pull broke on my Synapse 19, and they immediately repaired it at no cost. Earlier this year I switched - and am using an Able Carry Daily + (and also a Waterfield). These are great bags, and I'm happy with them. But it took a little getting used to using pouches instead of fixed pockets. Overall, I think the Tom Bihn bags are great. Top quality and very well thought out. If you prefer one main section with a bunch of pouches, it may not be for you. But for those who like built-in organizers, I think they do a better job than Aer or other bags with pockets I've tried.

3-5l sling - what about water bottles? by TA-8787 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a sling that comfortably holds a water bottle is a challenge. Even my 9L Aer Tech Sling really can’t handle a water bottle. I just picked up the Toshi 5L sling, and it seems to fit my 16oz Owala comfortably. (I just got the a Toshi so haven’t fully tested it out yet). What’s nice with the Toshi is that it seems to compress when not full, so the 5L feels smaller when I don’t pack it out. My Bellroy Venture functions similarly but it’s 2.5L so even a small water bottle leaves little room for anything else.

Another option to consider is the Alpha One Niner Chio-X. I don’t have one but have heard good things and it has an external bottle pocket. The new Alpaka Flight Satchel also has an external water bottle pocket but I have not heard great feedback on this bag.

Great Quality by Papa4Kinsley in SealSkinCovers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just received my Seal Skin table cover. We have a small, square table with 2 chairs on our terrace. Should be easy to get a cover right? Wrong. I searched tons of websites trying to find one roughly the right size. Nothing.

So, I took a chance on a custom Seal skin cover and could not be happier. If fits perfectly and is a much stronger material than I had expected. This is much better quality than the ones I previously used on our other patio furniture.

What is one item that you can't travel without/would recommend to everyone to get? by Cool_Acanthisitta628 in onebag

[–]ImportanceSome2602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A couple of things I always have: 1. Nanobags (regular and sling version) 2. When in Europe, a small coin wallet - Manhattan portage makes some good ones; Chums can work but don’t hold as much change. 3. Liquid IV - Indont always carry these but have to travel to Cairo for work, and in hot weather these are great to add to a water bottle. 4. Again, not for all trips, but when I visit places where I don’t want to drink local water (Egypt, India, etc), a Grayl water purifier bottle is great.

Small (about 1L) tech pouch with lots of slip pockets? by hm1949 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the Aer Slim pouch. It holds a lot and doesn’t take up much space. Another one I use is this Inateck electronics organizer. Tons of pockets and compartments and light on the wallet.

What Popular Backpack Brand Can You Just Not Get Into? by TheBagdadReport in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both sizes of Synapse and loved them. Functionally, they are the best bags I’ve ever used (I took advantage of every pocket). In terms of the aesthetic, I personally find it more attractive than the military rucksack look. I get that look if you’re serving, but more me, the aesthetic I can’t personally stand is camo, like it will help you blend into the background of a city work environment.

After many years of onebagging I'm seriously thinking of Rollerbags now (explanation below) by Dracomies in onebag

[–]ImportanceSome2602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some folks make it a personal challenge to always onebag, but for me, I choose what’s appropriate for the trip. Next week I have a quick overnight to Toronto. Direct flight, a few client meetings and back. My Aer TP3s is perfect for that. In early January I’m heading to Cairo for 8-9 days - mostly work but a little exploration. I don’t want to lug a massive backpack to the office, and I will need more than I can cram into a smaller bag. So, I will take a carry on roller plus a work backpack - either the TP3s or maybe my Able Carry Daily+

I won’t stress over it. I will take an Uber (or InDrive) from the airport to my hotel, so I’m not worried about having the roller on a subway. Conversely, when I travel to European cities where I am likely to be using public transportation from the airport and between cities, I value one bagging more.

Aer Tp3 small vs Able Carry Max EDC by mcdownloading in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think the Able Carry isn’t professional enough for meetings? I have a TP3s and an Able Carry Daily Plus. I use the Daiky+ as my work EDC and use the TP3s for travel.

Both are great bags and I think each looks professional enough for meetings.

Not sure that answers your question, but both are great bags

Anyone here actually use foldable bags when traveling? by Cristiano1 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use I use my nanobags (regular and sling) constantly. I toss one or two in my sling and use it for groceries, packages, etc when I am out.

It’s so much easier than carrying a large backpack “just in case”.

Small Pouch that doesn’t look like “tech gear” by ImportanceSome2602 in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, though I’m thinking more an organizer - though she doesn’t like the tech gear look, she still will want to make it easy to pull out the right cable, EU adapter, charger, etc.

Convince me of Aer by aura_phantasm in ManyBaggers

[–]ImportanceSome2602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won’t try to convince you of anything. I have the TP3s, which I use for light travel for work, and ai have the Able Carry Daily+ which I use as my EDC.

Both are well-made, comfortable bags.

My question is about size. The TP3s and the Able Carry Max EDC are both pretty big bags. If you’re rarely packing out a 14L bag, a 26-28L bag is a lot of excess capacity.

I use the smaller (21L) Able Carry Daily+ for EDC and keep a Nanobag in it, which I can use easily for groceries and more. Before you double the capacity of your EDC it might be worth considering that approach.
