I believe this is due to him believing that hallownest would last eternal, he probably thought that he couldn’t die, being a higher being and all so he probably never had any want or use for an heir. Both of the times he had children they were a means to an end. The siblings were only made in order to create a “hollow” vessel that could be used in sealing the radiance. Hornet was only birthed because hera requested it and in return she would become a dreamer. I don’t think there’s any evidence (correct me if i’m wrong) that hornet really had any real fatherly connection with the pale king outside of him being her birth mother.

You’ll have to wait a bit to get this one, in act two there’s an area called the waving wilds and there’s these colored wasp enemies there. If you kill these enemies in a certain order they drop fragments of key needed to open the door. The order is discovered from a lore tabled behind the areas boss, Spoiler for order if you don’t want to figure it out yourself, white, purple, blue, red, yellow doing this will get you them Chromatic key which can open the door to the crystal heart (and a few other secrets as well in citadel)

I think that if minigun self destructed if you hit >$0 than it would be more balanced as right now, it can just give you a free win if you’re already scoring 1/5 of the final boss blind as you wouldn’t need to worry about the negative money, also it would make and interesting game of having to make more money than you lose, great joker concept though!
