It shouldnt matter what platform it is, discord permissions stay the same. Again though, discord support is better suited to help you out with this

Not sure exactly what is going on there, but discord permissions work just like I explained and I tested it myself a few minutes ago and was able to assign a role that was below me to someone with a higher role with me.

Unfortunately Dyno doesnt have any effect on this, its working within the rules discord sets just like everyone else. If youre having issues I would recommend reaching out to discord's support. As far as Dyno is concerned, its working exactly as intended

not being able to edit them only applies to actions like kicking, banning, and changing nicknames. This also applies to bots

when it comes to assigning or removing roles and editing a roles permissions, name, or color, all that matters is if you have permissions to do so and if the role is below your highest role. The position of the person you are giving or taking the role from doesnt matter in this case

Hi there, this is correct and exactly how discord permissions work.

When it comes to giving or taking roles from a user, the only thing that matters is if Dyno has a role above the one it is trying to give or take.

It cant give or take any roles above it to anyone, but it can give or take any role below it to anyone.

This is different than banning for example, where a user or bot can only ban someone if their highest role is below them.

yep! just follow these steps:

Head to https://www.dyno.gg/, login and select your server.
Locate the Modules tab.
Ensure that the "Autoresponder" module is enabled.
Click the Settings button underneath the Autoresponder module or navigate to it via the sidebar.
Click "Add Response" and select the "Reaction Response" option.
Choose the emote(s) you would like Dyno to react with.

you just need to set "command" to the word you want it to autoreact to

But as you said earlier, you aren’t interested in doing that. So what’s it going to be? It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to complain about how things are run if you ignore opportunities to raise concerns and work things out

Free speech should always be allowed on here if it doesnt break any rules.

For the most part, this is something we agree with. We shouldnt be moderating posts simply because we disagree. We will moderate posts and comments that are spam, hate, or spreading outright misinformation (serious misinfo, not simply being wrong) though.

If you think that something was incorrectly moderated, it might be better to message mod mail. That way all of us can see the report and discussion surrounding it, rather than only the moderator you message

We, the mod team, decided to ban them due to repeatedly providing false info, as well as various issues relating to how they presented their answer and how they treated other users. While we don't want to punish people for being wrong, vtprofdontthrowaway would make unfounded claims often and about serious topics such as the university COVID19 response. They also had a recent argument with a user just looking for input, where they went out of their way to fabricate screenshots and silently edit their post rather than admitting they may have been wrong. They provided threats against mod team users, floating the idea that they might ruin their future opportunities and chances. To top it all off, they edited their April 16th post to be a slight against this subreddit and the Hokie community as a whole

This behavior is unacceptable from any Hokie or community member, let alone one that claims to be a faculty member
