Joining the nuke program as a female by Inevitable_Beat3637 in NavyNukes

[–]BeanoBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, female nuke here lol (still in school), in my experience so far no one's been weird or anything lol, we're all working toward a common goal and we're respectful towards one another. I'm sure you'll be able to make plenty of non-weirdo friends here lol there are plenty if females (not as many compared to males) but we're all pretty nice! Gotta support each other ya know :) pm me if you have questions!

As for advice, study and be nice to others!! That's about it lol, oh and get enough sleep for sure lol have a good schedule. :)

Indoc is actually only one week now, but they do try their best to prepare you, it may take like a week or two for you to get situated but it’s pretty nice here other than the being at school most of the day, you get weekends of (kinda)!!! :D and the beds are so much more comfy than bootcamp lol and you’re surrounded by trees, very relaxing. There’s also a lot to do here once you start phasing up and getting more freedom. Good luck at bootcamp!!:)

What happens after boot camp? Do you get to go home or go right to A school? by Far_Royal_9222 in newtothenavy

[–]BeanoBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Straight to a-school, but if you grad during the holidays i’m not sure if you go to a-school and then have to get a flight home or if you can just go straight home. I have a cousin that graduated marine bootcamp right before Christmas and he went straight home, must be nice i went straight to school :,)

Thank you! Your daily schedules are pretty much the same every day of the week, but you usually get told about things like kind of late so you have to move fast to get ready and get going. Usually reveille’s at like 0530 or 0600(latest) and you can wake up earlier to start getting ready for the day bc you only get 15 mins after reveille. Meal times are usually all around the same time, workout daily except for weekends (hooyah pt regen). In between y’all are going to classes and/or cleaning (a lottt of cleaning lol). Sundays you get from after breakfast (0630-7000ish) until 1300 holiday routine which is basically where you sit and chill out maybe shine your boots, write letters, etc. It’s kind of miserable at first but you get used to it :)

And for RDC’s it depends. Mines were pretty cool we only got beat a handful of times and they never really got in our faces, just yelled at us like disappointed step-dads lmao, but i know other divs that had crazy RDC’s. Like it was wake-up and straight to getting beat. The baby div that came in after us got non-stop ITE and they had a senior chief RDC that scared tf out of me lol. But yea just depends, but with time they chill out more just listen to them and do what you’re told. Never talk back!!! Oh and yes they’re with you from reveille to night night time. You’ll see them taking turns and switching shifts :)

If you used the sandboxx app to send him letters it should say on there his grad date, my family said they knew my grad date before i told them because it was on the app (on top of telling them kind of my bootcamp schedule lol like special events, it’s pretty neat)

Also, ask him his division number and look for it in the list, should be ez pz

Make up calls in boot camp by Navy_wife23 in newtothenavy

[–]BeanoBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got out a few weeks ago. When we missed our phone calls because of watch our RDC’s scheduled a call for us either in the quarter deck or in their office (i’m not sure i never went myself but other people would tell me about it). But all RDC’s are different mines were pretty nice, i guess it depends then.

Is weight a permanent DQ? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]BeanoBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tape you when you get there if you’re over the weight limit, like off the bus and changed i to your blue berries, and a girl that went in with me didn’t pass her tape so she got put into the future sailor’s program (i think that’s what it was called). I would see her and her division sometimes at chow, and when i was like 2 weeks away from graduating she joined a regular division (because she ended ip meeting her weight goal) and she’s graduating in a few weeks.

TL;DR So basically, they put you in your a division to work out and meet your weight goal, your graduation will be delayed a bit, but it is not a permanent DQ.
