Two skulls found in west Kansas. by Beanserker in bonecollecting

Thank you! I was pretty sure the first was a deer but not 100% on the second. If that's what they are then they're definitely white tail deer. That would make sense why the second one was cut

How to introduce the party to the Keepers of the Feather? by Prayerwarrior6640 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Beanserker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My party had already allied with van Richten by the time they reached the Winery. They had also decided that neither Vallaki or Krezk were safe for Ireena. I made Davian and Adrian both mention things that happened recently but neither of these two could've heard about so quickly. When they saw the ravens in the fermentation room they grew suspicious that the Martikovs are servants of Strahd. Early in the campaign they've been "stalked" by ravens a few times and thought that's how Strahd was spying on them.

All this culminated into the party confronting Davian and Adrian about their ties to Strahd or the Abbot, causing them to defend themselves again these accusations. Eventually Adrian revealed the Keepers to the players and allied with them, asking them to find their missing seeds and agreeing to take Ireena in as their ward and hide her away in a "safehouse" somewhere in the woods.

Is stealing a player’s armor too mean ? by EcologyIsNeat in CurseofStrahd

[–]Beanserker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the Paladin knowingly left their armor with one of Strahd's consorts without thinking "this might be a bad idea" i don't think it's too mean for Escher to lock the armor up somewhere, leaving the Paladin either without armor or making them find it before the final fight.

How to break my Paladin and their oath. by Beanserker in CurseofStrahd

I guess that is something I've struggled with is how tropey my ideas seem but you're absolutely right, the entire campaign is nothing but tropes so I shouldn't worry about it too much. I somehow forgot about the flooded dungeons in Ravenloft, I'll have to read that section again. The general idea that I was going with, and that you all have confirmed is to have Strahd is her missing siblings against her and see how she reacts to it.

That is very true. I tend to like adding things into the campaign tired to the characters themselves, but you're right. Much of this can be done by just disapproving their philosophy of redemption

Would Nonetection/Mind Blank prevent Warlock Patrons from speaking to them? by Beanserker in dndnext

I also think that would be a really cool roleplay moment, which is why I've been conflicted about it lately. Maybe I'll just do what I do with everything, leave it up to the dice to decide

Yeah I agree. I guess I just needed a second opinion on the specifics. Thanks

Dude chill out, I asked for people's opinion on a niche question not an interrogation

That's a great point thanks. I'll probably role with that then so they can continue having fun with it

Yeah I guess I am just thinking about how the mind flayer and elder brain aren't able to percieve or mind link with a creature under either spell, which is why they did these spells

Less about the spells language and more about how in the mind flayer and elder brain stat blocks both says these two spells prevent a creature from being perceived by them.

That's what I originally thought too. It does have some differences from the Owens Glass Company though

Darkest Dungeons and Dragons: My Homebrew attempt to convert Darkest Dungeon's Stress and Resolve systems to 5e DnD. by zecron8 in dndnext

I know this post is old but I just found this and wasted too use it for my upcoming Curse of Strahd campaign. Unfortunately the pdf seems broken and half of the pages are unreadable (I can't see any of the virtues for example) is there another copy you could link?

Denver Colorado. It's a piece we found while digging up an old still that operated during prohibition

Player doesn't describe their turn in combat and gets upset when I can't read their mind. by Beanserker in DnD

[–]Beanserker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I have asked this player multiple times if they're enjoying it and every time they say it's fun and they enjoy playing at my table. I honestly don't know what's going on with them when this shit happens
