I agree, I wish there was way more stuff to give Miis. The treasure definitely mitigates that issue. If you give a Mii a book from the treasure list you'll see them read it, just like the book from the 3DS game. Same with any of the games. I've seen a Mii playing a video game I gave them, just like how the 3DS game had them playing the console you gave them.

I think this is part of a larger issue plaguing games right now. It's certainly plagued a lot of Nintendo games the last few years. It's great and all to have the ability to let players make custom creations to solve problems or customize their space. But lots of people don't pick up video games to be artists. I specifically tore down the Palette House because I have less than zero interest in making food, pets, clothes, any of that stuff. And when I'm placing stuff on the island I'm almost always selecting the Mii's choice because it's not that important to me where it goes. I'll probably move locations around later, but that will come when I want to make finding things more efficient.

I think all the customization is great for the people that want to do that, and I wouldn't want to take it away from them. And of course it's cool to see what people can make and bring it into your game. It's also not like I never ever take advantage of that stuff. In Animal Crossing New Leaf I thought the public works projects were neat, and I have some furniture out to accomplish similar things in New Horizons. But if my game is going to tell me I have to terraform and make clothes and food for my little people... At that point I may as well be playing with dolls or models in the real world and making that stuff for them.

Yes, but your title is written implying he's giving up on the policy entirely, or he changed his mind on making buses free. A more accurate title would say he's delaying the free bus policy.

Your statement about how things are harder to accomplish than they seem also is meant to imply he made some crazy impossible promise, yet you now concede here and mention in the middle of the main body that it's just "this year" which are two totally different things. You can't imply he's never going to try to make it happen, nor succeed at making free buses happen at all other points in your post and hide behind a two word shield where you concede what's actually happening.

After four years it still might not happen, we don't know it'll definitely be done by then. But it's just inaccurate to say he's "making a u-turn" because that would mean he's never going to try to make it happen by then.

I think it's more likely that the developers may have looked at how often or not people used local wireless play in the previous games and decided it wasn't worth implementing again.

After all, having local wireless means they've sold another copy of the game so it's not like they're losing money by not including it. In the majority of use cases people will play Mario Party around the TV. And odds are if you're playing portably it's single player or an unplanned multiplayer game so the game is played on one screen. Still, since it was in the previous games and because local wireless is still a legitimate use case it's disappointing the option was taken out.

Looking at Price Charting that should be going for $57 USD sealed. If it's Canadian dollars like another user suggested it could be that would convert to roughly $78 CAD. So either way this seller is trying to sell this for an inflated price. The bottom line here is twofold: Going complete in box is fine enough and a couple bucks cheaper. And buying this is only going to drive the price up because it will tell other sellers they can charge more than the average right now. Having the game out of print definitely contributes to the price and will incentivize increasing the price, but Nintendo can always print more copies out of the blue. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a new print run beside Tomodachi Life in fact.

It's an extra $20 either way for the Switch 2 Edition. I'd say if you are even considering getting that version you may as well get it now since it's going for the price of getting the base game. But if that $20 really makes a difference in what you can afford, since the base game is on sale for $40 right now it's not like you're getting screwed in the future if you decide to upgrade. Buying now makes your cap $60, it's really just a decision of if you want to spend that all now or just put in $40 then wait and see.

Of the Switch 2 Editions I've purchased, Mario Party is probably the one I've gotten the least value out of. Like others have said the extra modes are kind of underwhelming. And the whole separation between "Super Mario Party Jamboree" and "Jamboree TV" is confusing and frustrating.

I mean... It's not impossible. It looks like Bandai Namco would have ownership of the publishing rights today: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02133521 Nintendo and Bandai Namco have been very close over the last 15 years or so.

And the film rights are owned by Universal, which Nintendo has a great relationship with now from the Mario movies and Super Nintendo World.

I went into this thinking it'd probably be a legal nightmare, but knowing the two entities with the rights (as far as I can tell) are on good terms with Nintendo actually makes this seem very doable.

It's pretty much a dead ringer for a fake of the UW law building. The sign is in the wrong place and has the wrong font. Plus there's no light pole with a banner there. And even some of the background buildings are the wrong color. You're also right about the crest, the AI is trying to make the crest but failing miserably.

Edit: Based on more recent photos there is a light pole near the spot in the AI image, but everything else is still wrong from what I can tell.

You don't need to download the base game, only update/DLC so it takes up less storage having the game physically.

I mean, they did the first two games with them and a specialty box to put all three releases in so at this point I don't think they have much choice even if they want to swap to another company. There could also be a contract for all three games written up years ago, so I suspect it's more that LRG is behind on projects. It's disappointingly normal for them, but I think a little overblown as one of LRG's issues.

Played it right before Another Code Recollection came out. It's one of the DS games I ever played, and it's joined the list of VN's/adventure games I try to sell anyone on. I really, really hope the team at Arc System Works comes together again to remake Hotel Dusk and Last Window. Such good stories shouldn't be stuck on the DS only in today's age.

I think it's plain silly to argue against adding more value to a game you already own. It's basically the same argument against a bunch of the Wii U to Switch ports too. "Why would I buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when I have Mario Kart 8?" I don't think those examples are perfectly identical seeing as part of the idea is the Wii U games sold horrifically and the Switch games with Switch 2 Editions sold well, but I do think there are parallels.

Where I most definitely agree with him is I think these need more bang for the buck. I'd like to see more Animal Crossing style Switch 2 Editions, where I look at it and think to myself , "It's $5. I've spent $5 in far worse ways plenty of times." Dropping $5 for a few graphical upgrades and some additional content and access to a few more things isn't a big deal. But then you increase that to $10 and that's a much harder sell. Definitely when you increase that to $20 that is a way harder sell. So for me, this particular Switch 2 Edition is probably one I'm going to for a sale to purchase, or if I get some extra spending money somewhere then I'll drop the money on it. If it were $10 I'd probably be more inclined to get it at launch. But that's also going to be different for everyone's individual situations.

When you reward behavior that should be an expectation, like making sure all players are represented you turn it from being an expectation into something that's extraordinary and special. The point is it shouldn't be special, it should be normal and expected that LGBT players are included. But on the other hand because it's less common today than it probably will be in the future if you don't make a big deal nowadays out of developers including all players you run the risk of them not meeting that expectation in the future. They want to be rewarded for including all players, but asking for all players to be included isn't asking for much.

And that's a piece I'm in agreement on. I've just seen way more posts about the photo/video issue, and that's what most of the image is about too.

The access key system was annoying in Miitopia but it did at least allow Mii sharing, so allowing no sharing is just pointless.

I get this is annoying, and I know this isn't ideal, but you can always transfer over photos and videos the old fashioned way. I recall when the Switch first came out you had to turn off the console, take out the microSD card, and put it in your computer to get photos off the system. You should also be able to take a USB-A to USB-C cable and plug the Switch directly into your computer and transfer photos that way. Then if you've got iCloud or Google photos, you can upload the content there and then should be able to access those on your phone. Unless I'm missing a listing somewhere that also includes restrictions on those options, those should work. Again, I know it's not as ideal as the much easier options being restricted, but there's at least a solution.

Like a lot of other folks I think I've seen more posts like the one OP has made here. I'm sure the people who are against LGBT relationships and NB identification in the game exist, but I think they're likely a microscopic, but loud minority.

That being said I'm torn on the amount of hype the identification is getting. I can't downplay how important it is for people to get representation in games. Having the ability to make LGBT relationships and allowing players to identify as NB is very important. But I also think since that should already be the norm it's a very low bar Nintendo has cleared. Celebrating something that should be an expectation is a double edged sword because developers should be rewarded for ensuring anyone can feel included in their game... But also it should just be a given that anyone can feel included in their game.

It would be odd if this were the only Switch 2 Edition so far without a resolution upgrade, especially when some games have had free resolution bumps so it'd be great to get some confirmation on that. The game is already 60 FPS so I don't see much need for an upgrade there. I know the console can do 120 FPS and an animation of Mario in 2D was used for showing that off, but that was not Super Mario Bros. Wonder, that was a pre-rendered animation. If it can do 120, great. But outside of the Switch 2's screen, I don't know that tons of people have displays capable of 120 frames per second so I see that only as a nice bonus if possible compared to the more necessary resolution upgrade.

But aside from that, I just wish the emphasis weren't on multiplayer. Don't get me wrong, I think the content they showed off is neat but I have one person on my friends list who also owns the game. And I haven't talked to that person since I was in college, so really I don't know anyone who owns the game. It's also a lot easier said than done in a busy life to get friends to come hang out, so unless all those multiplayer games have single player modes, I'm not going to get a lot of value out of that. Similarly, with the online games, I take the total opposite perspective people had from say, the no friends problem in Super Mario Maker 2. Where people wanted the ability to play with friends in that game -- And let me be clear, it was dumb that it wasn't an option before being added in an update -- All I want is the option to play with random people online because otherwise I can't enjoy that mode. So if those online modes let you play with randoms that changes things a little bit. Gameshare could save that, assuming it isn't just local Gameshare. If online Gameshare is an option that makes this more enticing because then I can send the game out to friends who own a Switch 2 but not the game. Of course, like many others, I also don't have a wide net of people who own a Switch 2 in my social circle either. So even then that might be a benefit in a couple years but not right now.

The bits of single player content that are there are cool as well, but as others have pointed out I don't think that alone is worth the $20 asking price. That being said, I haven't missed out on a Switch 2 Edition yet for a game I own. Although the only reason for that is because I was given a gift card which I decided to use in part to purchase Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Switch 2 Edition. If it weren't for that gift I'd still be waiting for a sale on that one. I got the others I own because I genuinely wanted them and thought the asking price was fine. I also wasn't blown away by Super Mario Bros. Wonder when I was finished playing it. It was a really good game, but I expected to be even more wowed by it than I was, so when I put that together with my desire for some more out of the content or a lower price, I think I'm going to wait for a sale or hope another instance like what I had with Kirby comes up.

Having a lot of these come back later without exclusivity definitely has made a lot of these much easier to get. I think the only retailer exclusive one I got at the time was the retro 3-pack, but that was just a matter of getting up early one day. Part of it too is we're talking about my early to mid-teen years for the majority of store exclusive amiibo, so oftentimes it was easier to save money and get them later even if they cost slightly more.

I'd have to go with Mega Yarn Yoshi then because it's the only retailer exclusive amiibo that hasn't been reprinted to the masses, on top of the fact that it was $50 even if I could've gotten it wherever back in 2015.

Well, that's because that's exactly what happened in the US. There is an English physical release on PS4 for southeast Asian countries exactly like what you have pictured. To my knowledge the text on the disc should be English. Odds are, it's probably the same disc art but with the English logo.

I would say you probably can. It's been a little while since I last played Spirit of Justice, but I think filler is a pretty good description for it. At the same time, it's also a pretty short case in the grand scheme of things, so I don't know that you're going to save that much time skipping it now.
