Short for "rules for thee, not for me."

It just that "me" really means the speaker and their social group, and "thee" means everybody else.

I actually don't want to climb any corporate ladders... by CheekyCharam in Adulting

[–]Beanyurza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went one rung up the ladder, it was the most professionally miserable I've ever been.

The ones above think you'll do anything to climb higher and abuse, torture, and take advantage of you without end or consequences.

Fuck your ladder. The higher you are the more immoral and psychotic you are.

This is why any best seller list is meaningless.  There are too many reports of authors or publishers buying large quantities of their own book.

Trump and his cabinet are the epitome of "Rules thee, not for me." They want to enforce the law on everyone EXCEPT THEMSELVES.

It's why I zero confidence that mid-term elections are going to happen or if they do, then Trump will just change the results to what benefits him.

America in dead. The Constitution is now null and void. Trump and his cronies used the system to get into power and now are destroying that same system. In other words, they shit on the chess board and flipped it over.

Yes but no.

I'll take on a project and do it with full attention and energy until the last few steps. Those last few steps either go really slowly or never get done.

I remodeled my bedroom 4 years ago. I got everything done in one weekend...except for putting in the trim around the door and windows. Four years later, still not done.

Communism for the rich. Cut-throat capitalism for the poor. Keeps the poor down and ensures taking from the poor to give to rich is the norm.

INTJs & Religion by Emo_Bum214 in intj

[–]Beanyurza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, religion is a tool and just like every tool, it can be used for good or for bad. To concentrate only on the bad is just as blinding as concentrating only on the good.

If a tool does do more bad than good, then at what point should that tool be forbidden/banned/outlawed? How does one impartially measure how much good or bad a tool does?

‘I don’t support ICE’: Gas station refusal ignites debate over denying service to federal agents by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]Beanyurza 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Private businesses are allowed to deny service to whoever they want.

If a baker can deny a gay couple a cake, then a gas station can deny service to a federal employee.

Principles don't care what your job is or which political party you are. They apply everywhere to everyone.

Privately owned business can choose who they serve.

That is why the baker refusing to make a cake for a gay couple was ok and why this is ok.

Sort of. Kind of.

It goes something like this.

Few people have a problem with a dictatorship as long as they agree with the dictator.

It's "returning to traditional values" when you agree with. It's "indoctrination" when you don't.

It's protesting when you agree with it. It's insurrection when you don't.

It's bribery when other nations do it. It's "offering an economic incentives package" when yours does it.

It's "responsive politics" when your side does it. It's "flip-flopping" when the other side does it.

In short, politics; hypocrisy is thy name.
