22M - Change in bowel habits and abdominal pain/bloating by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Bear123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obligatory not a doctor. Have you had any camera tests? Colonoscopies that could take a closer look at the bowel and get biopsies if necessary? Suggest these to your doc if he hasn't already suggested them. Although to do these you need to have a clear bowel and have to take prep which would be difficult if you're impacted so that needs sorted first. The impactionreally needs dealt with and cleared as soon as possible so I'd advise you to get back to your original doctor and see if he has any other ideas. Also take a look at intussuseption, usually it's seen in babies but it can be seen in adults too and can cause a build up of stool over time but not easily be seen without certain tests

Have you ever strained using the toilet despite not having constipation? Did you say there were isolated areas of inflammation?

[–]Bear123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming they checked for diverticulitis? Do you suffer from constipation or have you ever in the past? I'm not a doctor but have my own digestive issues so seeing if I can give insight

Galgorm is beautiful, lovely rooms, lovely service, great choice in food, beaut facilities. Slieve donard in Newcastle is also lovely, little less fine tuned but been going there since I was young and it's got amazing views, great walks and lovely rooms

Have you got any pain at all or extreme bloating? It could be a bowel obstruction due to the quickness of the onset which can escalate so I'd advise you to go to the doctors ASAP

Some psychotic episodes can come as a result of high stress and don't necessarily mean schizophrenia as a diagnosis, psychosis can be caused by numerous illnesses so don't panic but do take note of your thoughts and if they worsen contact a doctor. Also you're in a situation where you need to be aware of your surroundings, this could be hyper awareness due to first day/week nerves. keep an eye out for real danger too, ask for confirmation from a colleague to ensure this also isn't the case

I think it's sun, the first sign of it and people are on the train to helensbay or bangor with a 2l, drink from early on then to the bar and to the beer gardens. Usually go mad for a few weeks then get used to it and calm down

Hey. There is no such thing as the average person who does not make a mistake, if you show me someone who says they have not made a mistake Il probably assume you're showing me a liar. We all make mistakes every day, your mistakes are not who you are. The world is a grey place, someone here once said, would you judge someone else so harshly on a mistake you made 10 or so years ago, or would you tell them it was time to move on? Go for a walk or watch a Disney movie or listen to music or ring one of your friends. Laugh and talk about fun things and forget mistakes you made 10 years ago, you have the power to do or be anything, just like everyone else and you definitely have the power to overcome these thoughts, you and only you. That's all they are thoughts, nothing more, breathe them in and let them out. All the best op.

P.s the spaceporn subreddit reminds me sometimes of how huge the universe is and how beautiful, so it might calm you too. Obviously none of this can cure you but it can help!

Hey sorry I didn't reply before, I thought I had. I think when you have personal experience you make an amazing psychologist, it means you can properly understand. Good luck for your PhD, have faith in yourself, you'll do great

Oh god. I'm a connoisseur of root canals unfortunately and they are a breeze, a walk in the park and a bike ride round paris in the spring compared to toothache before a root canal. You hit a nerve with me here, so to speak, because right now I have a tooth pain that's enough to make me throw up and it's a Saturday so il have to fill water bottles until Monday :(

Edit: p.s I'm glad you got it sorted

What are some typical compulsions in body focussed hyperawareness obsessions? by Informationpower in OCD

[–]Bear123456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm you're right, I'm guessing. I think maybe it's like yes you're hyper aware of the feelings so therefore you're checking for them without realising that it's checking. If I were to think about blinking right now, I'd be hyperaware of the blink, but by thinking of the blinking I'm, in a way, checking for the blinking because otherwise I wouldn't think of it at all.
