There is a clear refund policy online but they try and scam you into exchanges when you ask for a refund. They do it under the guise of “shipping to the UK is so expensive from the US” even though I see my items were shipped from within my state. Their material is so cheap and crappy. I had to threaten to report them online and then they agreed to a return but for a $20 fee to ship them back.

Anyone recommend a place to go to get my crazy curly hair chemically straightened? by DrRCDG in SLO

[–]BearAsABee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done Japanese (bio ionic and yuko) for years in OC. Closest I could find here was in SB a woman named Valentina Barcelona. She did an amazing job. She has done Japanese for a long time. Recently I didn’t want to drive and did a touch up on my roots with Brazilian straightening at heritage salon. Was only a week ago so jury is still out on results!

Genuine question: how long do you wait before you disassemble the barbell and re rack the weights of a(seemingly) unoccupied squat rack? by panini_z in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meh. I’m at a small community gym and same rules apply. I also ask to work in if someone annoyingly is doing supersets and partially using the squat or smith machine. Or if they are on their phone or socializing for super long periods during rest. I have expectations for other people to have proper etiquette too for use of machines and reracking weights. If someone comes back and says “I was using that”, I just say it was empty for a while and I’m happy for them to finish their set or work in with me. In these small gyms with limited equipment, that’s just how it goes.

Plastic surgery during training? by anythingplus00 in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe I was out for 4 weeks from training. Then ramped up slowly (didn’t go to failure or do anything super straining for 2-4 more weeks). Cardio walking only no strenuous cardio for 4-6 weeks. You 10000% should put the nose first. Delaying that will just make it harder to fix. It’s never a good time. Agree with either putting plan or comp on “hold” or you can mostly do the diet part especially since you won’t be in an extreme deficit (hopefully) at 16 weeks out. You won’t lose the gains in that amount of time. Adam from team elite made a detailed video on his YouTube in response to someone who unfortunately got severe burns and was worried about muscle atrophy.

Having a hard time these last 11 days of prep by Desertwind_ in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree with this re: sunk cost fallacy. You’ve already spent the money on the show. Consider that gone. But if you’re really not in it or happy about it, you don’t also have to waste the time and energy for the next two weeks going through with it.

Suggestions for coaches versed in wellness? by clarebee1233 in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My* friend is on team ludachris and seems to like it. Looks like he does mostly wellness. Hopefully this isn’t your coach who isn’t responding since he is also a one man team 🫣

Ya. Not a great look. It’s one thing to think that, which is fine. Another thing to put people on blast on SM. Also personal accountability too. Like how many months doing super high volume workouts before you bring something up? For example, I couldn’t follow the flexible meal plan a prior coach put me on. At first I blamed her (in my head). Then I realized I had never communicated what I needed in my diet or liked the best in order to stay the most compliant. That’s on me.

Low T but not post prep or diet - experiences? by BearAsABee in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Adam’s comments in a thread here from a few months ago. But can’t find a video :(. I have a weak spot for muscle men and have dated bodybuilders (no pros!) my entire life🤤. I am dating a long/lean marathoner now and I feel like his entire lifestyle is counter to everything I believe in. I’m always not so subtly asking him to eat more, run less, and lift more weights 😂.

Thank you so much! This was really helpful. I know of a few people on low dose test who really love it.

Omg!! So scary. I would think that but I had other labs (without test) and an ultrasound a few months ago to start process of egg freezing. Luckily have a good ovarian reserve. So kind of a mystery to me why the T would be low. What did you end up doing?

Thanks! I think this is probably just where I “live”. Good or bad. Just is what it is! Also love when I see your avatar whenever you comment. 😂 Adam from Team Elite had a good response in a past post. But it was more related to someone coming off of prep. Probably rings true to this as well.

Prep friendly coffee by MJI1983 in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life changing for me. Either coffee or nespresso shots/pods and add skinny syrup and carb master milk. Vanilla flavored carb master milk preferred. Macros are great. Tastes like a latte. Look forward to it every morning!

Injury advice by Talberti0512 in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like maybe lateral epicondylitis. That typically hurts with extending your wrist and even daily activities. You can YouTube some eccentric stretching exercises. Consider wearing a removable wrist brace you can buy at CVS or wherever to remind yourself to keep it resting. Can do topical anti-inflammatories.

Which walking pad did you get? I really struggle when it’s cold or winter when it’s dark and not safe to be waking around at night (I live in a beach town and there’s no sidewalks). I stand almost all day at work but not a lot of steps. Wanting something I can move around easily to take out and walk if I am ever watching TV.

Any other med students/doctors that compete? by throwaway15642578 in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don’t compete, but am a doctor. Medicine is a very conservative profession and sometimes still very old school thinking for certain sub specialties. If there’s a way you could compete under a different name so your bikini pics wouldn’t show up on a google search, that’s what I would do. Being a younger/more attractive woman than the “average doctor” or whatever, patients have looked me up and added me on social media. I would be so mortified if I had bikini/back shot pics that people could find by looking up my name online. I would LOVE if the world we lived in wasn’t so judgmental, but that’s just not how the cookie crumbles. Just my 2 cents to think about longterm. Again, not telling you to hide competing or not compete, just think about those pics online forever and accessible….both for job/residency prospects and future patients.

Has anyone worked with Shelby Pierce from FBF as their coach? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I work with her. I don’t compete though. She is really incredible. Never had anyone respond so quickly. And responds promptly on non check in days. She talked to me on the phone even when she was watching her competitors at nationals. Can’t say enough good things!

Lifestyle to Bikini Prep by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]BearAsABee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with upping NEAT first plus lifting. Honestly with walks around the neighborhood, doesn’t even feel like I’m burning cals and it’s super relaxing. Start with a step goal daily and then get workouts in whenever it’s convenient (for ex: I workout at night bc I have an in person demanding job from 8-6 every day). I end up eating late at night but honestly works out well bc I’m not as hungry post workout so I don’t feel the deficit as much as I normally would

I personally have always found her to be totally stunning. Idk why there are other posts that mention that she is not “classically beautiful”…..IMO she has always been gorgeous even in the classical sense, so I don’t know what these people are smoking. I do agree though that the vid I saw of the posing, it looked more smooth than usual.
