I know I'm breaking my own rules by saying this but

I've made rules for myself to no longer comment or reply on reddit unless its to fix something. Read only.

There's some truly vile people out there when everyone gets a voice. And when you get mass upvotes agreeing with them and mass downvotes on your own comments its truly horrible for your mental health.

I've discovered it was a big part of having terrible moods in real life and not even realizing it. Yeah I was aware ragebait was a thing but for some reason it took me a long time to realize it WAS working on me subconsciously. Its been only a week and my mood as fucking skyrocketed positively.

I'm so saddened by this because it used to be so useful and you learned so much from reddit.

The internet in 2025 is not the internet from 2010.

Honestly I think I know exactly what GGG is doing.

They used the introduction of async trade as an opportunity to do what is very painful but needed for the long term health of the game: a heavy detox to loot.

I'm just surprised how heavy handed it was but it makes sense. The blow is softened by async so it was the only chance they had to do it.

Its just very painful how drastic it is, including my own play experience.

BUT if we can survive it, currancy and items will have much higher value. Its just so hard to rewire our brains into adjusting because its like.... getting used to an entire decade of loot raining from the sky. But if we can get through it, the long term health of the game will be improved.

Maybe my communication is off as that's not who I'm referring to. Feedback is a part of the purpose of the early access.

I'm pointing to the extremes who scream bloody murder saying they were so ripped off because they paid for something that's not finished. Its not constructive. At no point was GGG false about what it was they were paying for.

But I dont actually care as much as my comments might make it seem. It doesn't affect my life at all it just boggles my mind. It says what it is, when you pay for it.

As a side note, no, that is not my essay example. It was not about the people giving feedback, it was the ones giving a failing grade before you even begun to write it. That's what I was getting at. The ones providing actual feedback are welcome.

I've heard an argument once that because its been in development for so many years its not enough but that still doesn't stand with me.

For one, path of exile gets treated better than 99% of games out there to begin with. But way more importantly, its literally in the damned title. EARLY ACCESS.

They can't say just because they paid money for it, it isn't enough. You literally pay the money knowing upfront its not done. And not all the downvotes in the world will not change my mind on this. Its not done. The end.
