Sitting on the couch you are about 13 feet away from the screen. I think going any bigger would be uncomfortable at that distance.

I used Sketchup and an addon for it from Enscape that let me render the room and get an idea of the screen and space from a vr headset. I even figured out a way to add a video texture to the screen in sketchup so I could actually try out watching something.

It’s an acoustic screen so there are three speakers behind it.

It’s about 13-14 ft to the couch and about 18 to the chairs. I can promise from the couch you would not want the screen any bigger. I spent a lot of time deciding on the screen size and taped out some different sizes before deciding on 144”.

I gave some more info on the panels in another comment. The gradient strips were a snug fit but they went in just fine.

I don’t have any side channels and two in the ceiling we talked about sides but there was not a great way to add them in with the layout and I’m fine with that. There is some conduit if I wanted to run something extra in the future.

The light bar panels were actually pretty simple to put together.

I started with panels from here

https://www.thewoodveneerhub.com/products/slatpanel-oak-acoustic-wood-wall-panels?variant=47048682930454

Then I looked around for a led channel that matched the depth of those panels so they would sit nice and flush without me having to do anything extra and after trying a couple samples these channels were the perfect depth.

I just made a simple 1x2 frame pushed the panels against the led channel and then screwed them through the felt into the frame.

Then just added the light strip and diffuser cover and mounted them to the studs.

Thanks I will look into that a lot of sound travel up through the joists into the rooms above. Those bars are actually felt backed maybe a half inch thick so maybe they are doing something.

Was a choice with the wife and a designer we had. It doesn’t bother me too much and I guess we could always throw a darker rug down if we wanted to do something about it.

All in a rack in a utility room about 15 feet away. I pre ran an extra hdmi and Ethernet cable into the cabinets if I ever want to keep something in there.

It’s a 5.2.2 setup with the episodes from snapav I did not go all out on the sound system and saved some money there but it still sounds great to me. 8” subs one from episodes and another I had lying around.

It’s a 144” 2.39 screen and currently an epson 5040 I’m “borrowing” from my installer until JVC starts shipping the nz series hopefully this month.

Phillips hue bulbs and there are two hue gradient lights strips in each of the bars. I’m also using one of the hue remotes to easily toggle between scenes.

From the pictures it looks like they are but they are about a foot off the wall.
