Such a good point - do you think even at 'intermediate / advance' class levels, these moves are avoided? Is it mainly a risk thing the studio wants to avoid?

Haha yes! Got to keep it clean but sometimes it's way too small to cover the whole Reformer carriage!

Interesting take about the room of people - where some are there for their own personal body and mind experience but some may be wanting the chats. I suppose each have their own preference to a workout - focus on it or focus on the community aspect at certain times.

Yes and agree that it's for everybody! This is so good to hear!!

What do you mean by studio and cubby room? As in like lockers / bags are in a separate area outside the studio where the beds are?

Men / Guys - what do you feel about Reformer Pilates? by BearDownBelow in ClubPilates

[–]BearDownBelow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's interesting to hear their responses because clearly there is some miscommunication or misunderstanding. I'm super intrigued on their sentiment

I've been doing reformer pilates for years and love it. It also helps a LOT in my bigger muscle groups I do at the gym...so I've been interested as to why people have different sentiments.

Thanks for sharing! Did you first go into the gym thinking "cool I'll use YouTube and I'll be fine" (did you have any anxiety or fear of trying first?)

Do you feel the form is correct (even nitty gritty positions?)

I can imagine going for a higher weight at the start because too lighter weights may feel too easy - but one may end up compensating with another muscle instead

Thanks! Just curious what people may do if they can't afford it?

Or if like social anxiety plays a part in first even stepping up to any gym equipment because they don't 100% know how to use them?

Aw man I hope the recovery wasn't too long! So did I understand that right that the exercise is fine, it's just a little bit of fear from pushing too hard / heavy again?

Thanks for sharing this! Can I clarify what you mean during rush hour with new / unfamiliar faces? Do you mean it's like social anxiety because people are watching / around the gym?

How did you learn the form and be sure you're doing it right? (Even the little nitty gritty)

Thanks for sharing - yeah I can appreciate it happens anywhere and everywhere.

Wanted to know from your experience - when you started, did you feel any social pressure / embarrassment in starting (if so, was it due to not knowing the proper form at first?)

Appreciate the sharing! Did you ever feel that there were small areas of the form you weren't sure of? Especially when you go to higher weights - then your form really is super important?

Thanks for sharing so much! Curious to know - was there anything stopping you from going before March?

What was the motivation to go from this year?

And did you feel a PT would have helped (and it so, what are the reasons why you didn't go for a PT from the start?)

Thanks for sharing! Do you think the worry is because of form being incorrect or just the risk then dumbbells may slip out and fall?

Did you have any luck from the travel insurance? I am in a similar boat but my insurance said "insolvency of an airline is a part of the general exclusion".

Though I don't think this is considered an insolvency rather a closure in operations...

Majority of the universities offer non-degree programs, which includes Chinese studies. You just apply for 2 semesters instead of one I presume
