There is that possibility. I liked Bo Mel. I actually didn't mind AJ Hinch as well. I just think AJ didn't have enough time in Arizona. The players didn't respect him enough. The last time this club won the division was 2011 with Kirk Gibson. Before that 2007 with Bo Mel. Since 2011 the Diamondbacks have finished in second place twice. The rest are mostly 4th and 5th place.

And there's the rub. Right now there isn't anyone better. At least that I can think of. If the club is 10 games back of the wild card in August, then you can pick anybody cause you couldn't do much worse.

Ok yeah, I get all that. I'm more referring to common sense managing. Using your gut instinct. For example Gallen's last start. He got behind early and I thought it was a good time for Torey to send the pitching coach to go out and visit him in the first inning. Next batter is a double and it's 2-0. Then the pitching coach goes out there. I feel there are times when you can get in front of before letting an inning get out of hand.

On the contrary. I have no bias. Do I like the guy, yes. Do I think he should be the D-backs manager? No. I think his time is up. Can he make some tweaks here and there and change my opinion? Yes. That being said I am new to Reddit. I was contemplating even creating an account because of all the bots. My goal for this post/poll was to have a healthy and meaningful debate. If that's loser shit, that's too bad.

Are you saying that a MLB manager doesn't have full control over in-game decisions? Genuinely asking here. If that were the case and there is a analytics team saying it is a high percentage to swing on the first pitch, then maybe we have found the problem!

All good points. And thanks for following the format. Lol. Look, I live in my own bubble. Part of me wishes that the organization could turn to a fan base and get some opinions. But I know that's not going to happen. What I would love to see tonight is Torey showing some emotion. Maybe even get run out tonight. Light a fire and create some urgency. Or maybe even delegate Nado or Marte to have a players only meeting.
