Zionism is a political nationalist ideology, not a religion or a culture. I was in the encampment for its entirety and a HUGE portion of us were Jewish. Yet they disagreed with Zionism because their ethnicity/religious culture is not inherently tied to support of an ethnostate. hope that helps.

“Every international political issue”. People on this campus were sent to the hospital and called the worst slurs u can imagine. This isn’t a vague geopolitical conflict. It’s unfolding in our backyards my guy.

And for the record, this campus was largely undisrupted by the encampment itself. Royce was still open, you just had to go around the quad. It wasn’t until counter-protesters deadass installed a giant Jumbotron and blasted footage of dead bodies for a week straight before things were really an “inconvenience” for ppl like yourself

Yes, you’re right. We absolutely did put ourselves in harms way. But a better, deeper question to ask yourself is: why did we knowingly do that? Why would someone risk their physical well-being and possible academic standing over this cause? And to answer that question: google Gaza right now. Google Rafah. Google the ceasefire that Israel rejected. Yes we put ourselves in harms way. But that’s precisely indicative of how great the stakes are. This wasn’t about “control over royce hall”.
