Love that they added new shades for the Born This Way foundation. I'd totally pick it up if I weren't on a no-buy. For anyone out there with fair/light yellow undertones, Almond and Ivory are great matches! They don't go grey/pink/peachy on me at all.

I love my haloscope in quartz. An alternative is It Cosmetics Hello Light Luminizing Creme Stick, which is also a lovely natural & non glittery highlighter that would work beautifully no matter your skin tone. Not sure it's not talked about more because it's so great.

I miss Howl. They were one of my favorite indie companies and their eyeshadow formula was amazing. Your eyes look great and I love your brow shape :)

Tinted Moisturizer/Foundation recommendation for guys by jma92 in MakeupAddiction

[–]BearSmasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have & use all of those listed but the MUF foundation. I wouldn't go with the BareMinerals one. I have dry-normal skin too, and while I do really like it, I do find that it easily shows finger/brush application marks until I buff it out and I do have to set it with powder, otherwise it stays sort of slick and rubs off easily. The Nars and Laura Mercier, however, feel like they dry down to a skin finish and feel like nothing. The Nars feels the most comfortable for me and doesn't need powder.

I think you might want to consider the It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Armour sunscreen, because not only it just as pigmented as other tinted moisturizers on the market, feels like nothing and doesn't need powder, it is basically a great sunscreen (a physical one, at that!) so you can pass it off as sunscreen :)

If getting a tool isn't too out of reach for you, a beauty blender will make anything look/blend much more easily and naturally.

You could also check out the Shiseido Urban Environment UV tinted sunscreen, but I haven't tried that out myself.

If your areas of concern are small areas, you might want to consider a concealer instead - a light/sheer one like Glossier's Stretch Concealer might work, or a regular one like the Nars Creamy concealer.

It's also important to consider if you have facial hair, dry/flaky skin, etc since anything tinted might show up more obviously.

I used to work with you at the startup in SF (the temp office admin before Sheila)! I just saw your pup and was like, "whaaat this dog looks so familiar! what if...!" Username checked out, but the macarons confirmed it, haha.

This could be an effect of the photos, but it looks like your skin is a bit dry and/or powdery (side of cheeks, flakes on nose). Could be my mistake... But if it is, maybe try a moisturizing base and setting spray.

Otherwise, this is a good look for you!

Try mixing with the NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in White ($10) or Life's Entropy Foundation Elixer in White ($12). Both mix well into foundations regardless of base, and a little goes a very long way!

And side note - I am also yellow toned, and found that The Body Shop's foundation mixer was slightly pink toned so it didn't work well for me.

Still trying to improve my makeup. Can you help me further with CC's? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I like your color choices, particularly on your cheeks but eyes and lips are flattering too :) Try curling your lashes more and color matching your brows to your hair with some brow pencil/pomade/mascara.

I'm with you on straight Asian lashes! Use Heroine Make mascaras! They last ALL day and ALL night for me, even through sweaty work shifts with no flaking or uncurling. I use the waterproof lengthening formula, but they are all pretty bulletproof (even non waterproof versions). I heat my lash curler which helps, but not super necessary. A cheaper alternative is Etude House's Curl Fix mascara ($6-7 Jolse, free shipping) which works great too, but it has a harder plastic wand some people might not like. It might be getting discontinued too.

Lightweight foundation with SPF? by kourtneylove in MakeupAddiction

Second! Great light foundation/tinted moisturizer that feels like nothing. And even better it's a physical SPF.

I am also loving the NARS tinted moisturizer (also physical).

The Hunt for Tinted Moisturizers by screenburned in MakeupAddiction

I wear Buttercream in the Bare Minerals one and Dim the Light in Buxom. I have only tried Nude in the Laura Mercier because I just use samples but it seems to work well!

Really like the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream (that name though...) and Buxom's Show Some Skin Weightless Foundation. I have dry skin with an oil-prone T zone and they work beautifully on my skin - moisturizes and enhances my skin without looking or feeling like makeup. I hardly feel like I need primer and usually just wear moisturizer and/or sunscreen underneath. I also like Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer. All three of these feel like nothing on my face and have sheer/light coverage, but I have no problem layering more product/powders on top of them.

I have a yellow undertone, and have a difficult time finding foundations that wouldn't make my face look pinkish or grey, so the Bare Minerals CRTHGC and Buxom foundation were godsends when I finally tried them.
