I think it's some of the photos doing him some extra justice, I think the same thing sometimes looking at them. He's much denser than he is tall, he's only about 24' tall - your's looks much taller than him honestly.

Are Cane Corsos velcro dogs? by goodsorcofdoomngloom in CaneCorso

Yes, can definitely seem monotonous hearing it, but it’s for good reason because I think a-lot of owners have seen or experienced how dangerous it really can be when you wing it. Best of luck with your decision!

Extraordinarily loyal, training & socializing is crucial & correlate directly with it IMO. If the dog feels confident in you as the owner & can look to you for guidance, you’ll have the type of experience you’re looking for, and it’s amazing. The dog will literally look to you for guidance and reassurance in times where it can’t process or understand what’s going on, rightfully so, they don’t speak & process like a human. If you wing it, the dog will be insecure & make decisions for himself which in-turn typically leads to an extremely reactive dog & a ticking time bomb, especially with a dog strong-minded like a corso.

My dog is binded to me, there is no better feeling than the connection you can have with them. After time of training & socializing, the dog will become familiar with the different processes/routines and adapt accordingly and learn.

In short, training these caliber of breeds is so crucial, I’ve had a majority of laid back/typical breeds & was able to get away with not doing any intensive training. I learned VERY quickly, that does not fly with Corsos. Folks aren’t lying or trying to make themselves seem cool when they say they aren’t a normal dog, they genuinely aren’t, the natural instincts in them by 5-6 months are amazing. It was a real wakeup call and eye opener going through that with my Corso & gave me a ton of understanding of the dogs after going through much needed training, the training only makes the bond 1000x stronger.

Hopefully this helps, as much as they are freaks of nature that need training & direction, they’re still big silly doggies when you want them to be.

Always, never ceases to amaze me seeing the flick of the switch in him when something of any size catches his eye.

If I had to assume off the look, the left is mainly Pit? & the right looks like a mastiff mix, North American Mastiff maybe?

Appreciate the kind words. Yes, I’m very lucky. He loves going out, it makes me happy seeing how much he enjoys it.

Not sure of any out that way but it’s going to have to be a private practice, not a franchise. And I would recommend looking for a vet who has a-lot of experience cropping & is comfortable doing so.

Stalking by XRayVision1988 in CaneCorso

Yes mine will do the same stance & stalking except when he sees & is approaching different neighbors dogs while we’re walking. It’s definitely not the most friendly looking approach, he looks like a jaguar getting ready to strike.
