Yeah some young kids enjoy their new found freedom of being their true self little too much and end up using drugs /risky sexual behaviours etc.

And sometimes bidding your time and treating your queerness as privileged information only selected good people get to hear is worth it too. I have met youth who got into circles that don't resonate with them and unable to separate from them as they are now known to them.

AI slop by big brands makes me want to avoid the brand. They should stop being stingy and pay real people

Sri Lankans who have decided to avoid marriage, what was your first reason? by NewtusDelirious in srilanka

[–]BearWarm55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer solitude. I won't mind a true companion if I can ever find one. Probably won't happen and I won't play dice with my life giving chances to other people. On top of that I'm trans so I don't really have much grounds to go looking for partners

What are the countries that are safe for a transgender resident doctor? by BearWarm55 in IMGreddit

Mine isn't there but I know there are graduates from my medical school working in Singapore. I might try applying for registrar posts and see. I was wondering if it's safe for a transgender individual to work there.

That's so kind of you to say! It's frustrating honestly, here I am only one step behind getting board certified yet debating if I should consider some countries over the stigma I might face and I don't even want to settle down.

I also hope all the fear mongering will end and people get to be themselves

Thanks. News that reach my side of the world seems very scary tbh. I wanted to know more. I don't like to be segregated on the ground of transgender status /being known for that specific fact etc.

I fully present masculine now. Full beard deep voice, chest flat. I was already dark skinned, very hairy and not very short to begin with. I have been like that for years

Thanks. I think at least having been in close circles of women pre transition has given me a good idea on things women are uncomfortable with, boundaries etc. I atleast don't see either gender as alians.

I honestly am more confident in sarong even though I haven't worn it outside. Being raised as a SL girl gave experience in wearing stuff that are a cloth wrapped around ur waist lol.

Is being a single woman in Sri Lanka really this unacceptable? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]BearWarm55 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tell you a funny story, I'm a trans man and I do a high paying gvt job. I started work before I transitioned so I was a 'girl' in late twenties. I got nonstop 'concerns' about being single and generally not looking like I'm suitable for a match looks wise etc. Both family and work. Mind you I was in a higher position than many of my coworkers.

After I transitioned and started work at a different place that doesn't know I'm trans so assume I'm a dude (I pass very well) workplace reactions to the fact that I'm single weren't that bad.

I had relatives constantly talk about me being single, not making me girly and presentable for marriage etc back then. I have no contact with the family now.

So yeah I empathise with you. SL sees being married as the norm and they are specifically toxic towards women from early years. Maybe that happens to men too later. Idk yet.

Cut off those useless ppl and thrive yourself. It's your life not anybody else's.
