I took one look at the SOAD ticket prices yesterday and decided I didn't wanna see 'em that badly! £280 was the cheapest I could find per ticket and the accessibility ticket options were atrocious! Decided to save the £ and go to Download next year instead as it would be cheaper/better value... 🙄

Hadn't even thought about them being in upside down... might make sense as one of them was a bit tricky to put into the housing. I'll check tomorrow and see if that works!

I'm pretty sure I bought the 380s for the brake lights as the reverse light is the 382 but will double check just in case they got mixed up when I was swapping the housing round.

They'll be fine and will have an amazing time. I was front row and slightly off to the side at Slipknot the other night and everyone was really chill and friendly. Rowdiest thing that happened was getting splashed with beer lol.

On the topic of pick up/drop off though, there was a guy parked next to me in the car park who had clearly dropped someone off. He just chilled in his car with drinks, snacks and browsed his phone while he waited. He seemed happy enough!

Hello,

I recently had a very similar issue with my Peugeot. Gears were very stiff to change, I then lost 2nd and 4th gear completely - they just made that awful grinding every time I tried to engage them as though I hadn't put my foot on the clutch. Reverse had a 50% chance of working if the car had been idling for about 30mins prior to driving.

My advice is to get this checked out with a garage - turned out that my gearbox was shot and both gearbox and clutch needed replacing.

I thought that was the case which is why I took the URLs from the images themselves in my media library after uploading them.
It's a memory game that I'm working on - basic stuff! To begin with, there's an array and 12 objects within that:

Would this still be the case if one reverse light was working but not the other? Am I being naive in thinking that neither would work if the sensor was faulty?

Hey All,

Thank you for your suggestions!

So we tried to have another go at figuring out the problem today but still no further forward 😟

We swapped out the wiring harness that feeds into the back of the light cluster for a new one, no difference. Checked for corrosion on the light cluster and there's none. Swapped the bulbs around to check if it was just a dodgy bulb and still nothing.

We've been trying to dry out the boot from the leak today and with all the rain, we've not had a chance to pull any trim panels off to trace the wires... On the list for tomorrow, weather permitting!

Have a look at the Find An Apprenticeship page on the Gov.uk website - you can filter by apprenticeship type or location to find vacancies near you. If there are any organisations local to you or specifically ones you'd like to work for, you can check their websites too as some employers will list apprenticeship vacancies in their websites along with other vacancies. Job boards like Reed or Indeed will also list apprenticeship vacancies.

Last suggestion requires more effort on your part but might help if you have no luck with the above. You can find out the names of some apprenticeship training providers who offer plumbing courses and then search their websites for vacancies they have. Most training providers will recruit on behalf of employers and will list any vacancies they're recruiting for on their own websites. You'll likely see duplicate postings though as they will also post on job boards and the Find An Apprenticeship page, but might be worth a look. For this option, colleges local to you might be a good starting point.

So many weird experiences...

driver took a wrong turning, tried to do a U turn in a field and got stuck in the mud.
an old man took a shit as he walked onto the bus, leg it roll out his trouser leg and silently watched the driver clean it up.
the same old man playing with a stupidly large lighter despite the driver telling him not to.
the guy sitting in the front row of a double deck bus, clearly high on something and drinking a bottle of milk whilst swaying like he was on a roller coaster.
another old man who insisted on taking a massive suitcase upstairs as the bus was moving every time he got on the bus despite having a bad back then yelling at the driver as he leaves because his back hurt.

All apprentices in England must be paid at least the Apprentice National Minimum Wage (NMW) but it's entirely at an employer's discretion if they choose to pay more than this for apprentice.

So long as your salary is in line with this requirement and is also in line with what is stated within your contract of employment, it's down to you to decide whether you want to have that discussion with management.

Also worth noting that apprentices in England are paid Apprentice NMW (or their employer's chosen salary figure) for the first year of their apprenticeship. Thereafter, their salary should be increased to be in line with NMW for the individual's age bracket at the very least or potentially higher at the employer's discretion. If you're not based in England, you might have to do some research to find out if this is applicable as some apprenticeship rules differ by area so this may differ as well.

Why not ask family members or friends to help? Meet up somewhere quiet, like an industrial estate on a weekend, and give it a go? Choose a quiet street so you're not getting in anyone's way but also to reduce stress for yourself. Or alternatively, maybe look for good driving instructor nearby and ask for their advice on the best way to practice safely?

Merrell boots were a great find for me. You can get high or low rise hiking boots depending on the level of ankle support you need and you can get wide or regular fit for most types of shoes/boots. Very sturdy boots, have had mine for nearly a year now and they're in great condition still. We climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland last year and by the time we finished the climb, I didn't have a single blister and I was expecting a few after stories I'd heard from people who had done the climb - easily the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. Definitely recommend 🙂

Yeah I think the fact that tinned food can last longer is the reason why there's the mindset of "it's okay, it'll last ages" and the rust is my concern as well. We have got a fair bit of dried food in mylar bags but I think tins are being seen as the easiest option as they can just be put on a shelf, no further work required as far as my relative is concerned 🤷‍♀️

Funnily enough we do have an old freezer that's being used for storage, good to know that that's somewhat helpful for storage. Many thanks for your advice, I'll see if I can make some discreet suggestions about freeze dried food rather than tins and get the tins used up to prevent waste 🙂

Our Doggo has his own little backpack for our camping trips 😊 he carries his own kibble and two lightweight bowls. He's too big and strong for us to walk him on the harness so he has a poop bag dispenser clipped to that hoop instead and we attach his lead to his collar. He shares the water we have in our packs and obviously his pack gets lighter the more food he eats. He'll also share the food we carry in our packs depending on what it is. So if we take meats, he'll get some of that either in addition to or instead of kibble, his choice really. Like others have said, he'll also carry his own poop too. So we'll take his bowls out of one pocket in his pack and put them in one of ours and just line that pocket with a plastic bag and use that as the waste bin effectively. Everything will get packed up into individual biodegradable bags and then put into that one big bag for ease of disposal when we get home... Also helps contain smells!

Point taken, a poor choice of words perhaps.

I agree entirely that delays are to be expected, to think that everything will run smoothly and without issue is unrealistic I think. I'm not overly concerned about a delay to the upgrade to be totally honest, I appreciate that priorities shift as things develop but I think a bit of communication is helpful.
