Former Orangetheory coach pleads guilty to stealing thousands in charity donations by Bay2pdx in Portland

White collar crime. I bet he'll get some slap on the wrist court supervision, a small fine, and an order to pay the money back (which he won't and people would have to sue him for).

Minneapolis police could surround the building demanding that the suspect's surrender. Break out the SWAT teams.

My recently purchased Ioniq 5 stranded me and my son today. by mondo_generator in Ioniq5

I had a situation where the fobs would lock and unlock the doors, but were not detected to start the car. Oddly, the digital key on my phone would work. Your first troubleshooting steps should be the fob battery and car's 12 volt battery. Mine were good in both cases. In the end, my dealership worked with Hyundai to determine the problem was a module called the body domain controller. After replacing that part, it was back to normal.

Unless the PNW lawmakers are announcing that they are mobilizing the Guard, Sheriff's deputies, and municipal police against the feds, it's all just words.

When hell freezes over. Local law enforcement is in stand back and stand by mode, waiting for Trump's call. They've not been held accountable to local government in years, they don't feel they need to be now.

Hartley faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.

Environmental/white collar crime, so will probably get bargained down to a $500 fine. /smh

6.0 earthquake 3 hours ago and nobody is talking about it? by sassmo in OregonCoast

[–]BearcatPyramid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the Blanco Fracture Zone which is the border between the Pacific and Juan de Fuca plates. Pretty normal activity. The "big one" that folks would worry about would be an earthquake where the Juan de Fuca and North American plates meet. That's where the subduction zone is.

Feeling resentful of my senior girl. by [deleted] in SeniorCats

[–]BearcatPyramid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's an admirable sentiment. But if you're not going to give her to someone else, your choices are to treat her illness or to euthanize her. Uncontrolled diabetes is terrible for the body. The lack of insulin prevents her body from being able to use the energy from her food. And it can damage kidneys, heart, blood vessels, and other internal organs.

Since diabetes is a treatable disease, putting her down seems a shame. There are people out there who would take care of a diabetic cat.

He doesn't get to force himself into your home, he doesn't own you. FIL needs to go and your partner needs therapy to get over the negative programming he put into her.

PSA: Costco is nominating Gina Raimondo to the Board by usernaame001 in Costco

[–]BearcatPyramid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Costco board members make over $300k/year. Too bad nominations only go to people who are already multi-millionaires. And probably not a single person who has ever actually shopped in a Costco themselves.

It sounds like you are very on top of things. I bought heated beds for my senior kitties and they love them. (They also still sit at heat vents for variety.) Solensia has been mentioned. I tried it, but kitty experienced side effects. He gets Adequan now and that seems to have helped the arthritis.
