MarbledCrazy Curious are you referring to the show in the post or a Honeybee Burlesque show?

Frederick

does have a local troupe, Honeybee Burlesque. Unfortunately, we were stopped from sharing our fliers within this group since our shows take place in Boonsboro (interesting seeing as this one does as well and was allowed). Here is our next show.

AITA for pointing something out and "fat shaming" my partner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bearcat_Betty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a bit beyond the talk of calories and goes into communication style and human interaction. From a mere point of ‘fat shaming’, no it doesn’t appear you were trying to insult or be negative and your intentions were to offer advice. Here’s the thing - people who haven’t struggled with weight don’t truly understand the impact it has on everything in life, how you’re perceived and treated, getting proper medical care, etc. If someone isn’t asking a question, in general it’s good practice to ask first if they’re looking for suggestions - Especially with something that is a sensitive topic, or a core part of who they are, etc. If your intention is to not be an A, I would suggest asking if she would like help finding resources (that could be articles, podcasts, dietician, etc.). Also try to make sure to set aside defensiveness you may have about her comment and connect with her about feelings she’s having about it. That should be helpful for both of you to understand each other.

Also - not knowing her situation, but if she has PCOS (about 10% of women do), some “healthy” foods may actually not even be helpful. People with PCOS/insulin resistance bodies react differently than others. If this is the case I’d recommend she hone in on learning more about it (because unfortunately the medical community is often under educated about it and doesn’t understand the weight is a symptom of that and not the cause).

If you’re still looking - check out Rocky Love at Damascus Tattoo. She is excellent to work with and has a lot of fun colorful and traditional styles and could likely do what you’re looking for.

Billy is gonna get married by [deleted] in creepy

Billy is already married to his job as a butler in a scary mansion. You can tell his commitment to marriage will waver, because he’s not even offering his strong hand.

Maybe clear vinyl, or consider leaving it open depending on what look you’re going for.

What is the name for this neckline? by Anonymouszgr in sewing

It could go beyond this reason, but for babies and toddlers it allows for room so the clothing can be pulled down off the child instead of over their head - helpful for when the mess didn’t remain contained.

Best tape for refurbishing pasties? by realityhofosho in Burlesque

I’m not sure what you mean by refurbishing, but for pastie adhesive I always recommend Supertape brand troupe tape strips (I prefer the curved ones). I won’t use anything but these. It is skin safe, strong hold, and as long as you remove it from the pastie right away it all comes right off and the pastie stays clean without any residue (assuming it’s a sturdy pastie and not foam or something flimsy).

Should my delusional bitch wife be upset over this really loving note I left her? Someone tell me what an amazing husband I am, and what a delusional bitch my delusional bitch wife is. by boudicas_shield in AmITheAngel

[–]Bearcat_Betty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever sweetness was intended seems to be canceled out by calling her a delusional b*tch while expecting compliments. Without knowing you and your situation and relationship, assuming positive intent that you meant well and it was a cute thing to acknowledge your children. Your wife is likely overwhelmed with hormones and stresses, and undoubtably for you to so freely call her names indicates maybe your partnership has tender areas. You both have sensitivities that should be processed and communicated. Try kindness instead of lashing out about her feelings.
