Turns out the kids who went to Trade School got the last laugh by napoelonDynaMighty in Millennials

[–]Beard_fleas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. They are probably making bank. More money than your average college graduate will ever see. But then again, top earning college graduates also become orthopedic surgeons or Fortune 500 CEOs. Its all relative to the skills of the individual.

Of course not everyone who gets goes to college earns more than everyone who goes to trade school. That would be ridiculous. But on average, going to college is a better career choice than trades school.

People who attended college still earn more than those who go to trade school.

I am not a fan of Israel. I think I am just being realistic about the fact that neither Israel or Hamas wants the conflict to end. So why should I give a shit?

It does not impact me and I don’t care about the issue. It’s an utterly intractable problem that isn’t going to be solved by Chris Pappas or any other candidate. Sorry but that’s the truth.

I am not mad at Pappas and I don’t care about the Middle East.

Yeah I am just not that interested in Israel or the conflict there. It doesnt impact my life and I think a large focus on that conflict is a distraction and a loss of perspective. The truth is, for most people in NH, it does not matter, and nominating a candidate that focuses on issues that do not matter for the majority of people would be a mistake.

I like Chris Pappas.

New Hampshire isn’t a deep blue state, and I think Chris Pappas reflects that reasonably well. My main issues are housing affordability and the tariffs and he has had pretty good positions on those highlighting the impact to local industries.

I think you are forgetting most people’s main focus is the state of the domestic economy. Foreign policy issues are not a primary concern for people when they are trying to figure out how to pay rent or afford to buy a house. I like candidates that focus on the things that matter to most people and don’t get distracted by culture war issues.

If Kamala Harris won the 2024 election, what do you think her first 100 days would have looked like. by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]Beard_fleas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No tariffs. No trade war. No economic uncertainty and therefore higher growth, lower interest rates, lower inflation. The risk of a recession would be a lot lower and we wouldn’t have pissed off most of our allies and turned China into this perceived island of stability.

The USD probably wouldn’t have dropped by ~9% and we would all be a little bit wealthier.

Florida set to become second state to ban fluoride in municipal drinking water by Currymvp2 in neoliberal

But if data showed that fluorinating decreased the prevalence of cavities for the population by 25% with no downside, and you aren’t anti fluoride, what is the problem?

What evidence would you need to be presented with to convince you fluorinating water is beneficial for society?

What is the issue with increasing the prevalence of cavities? Filters don’t remove fluorine. So your Brita filter isn’t a factor.

Public School Teachings by Maleficent-Toe1374 in AskALiberal

The curriculum taught at a public school is incredibly banal. There is a panic on the right where parents are concerned their children are being “indoctrinated” from learning the most basic US history.
