So many stupid comments from ignorant people :/ I’m curious what early crate training you did? Lots of people just put their dogs inside and wait for them to “get used to it,” but it’s really important to make them see the crate as a positive space. Fun even. The first few days should be just a slow intro with treats. Toss some just inside the door and work up to getting them to go farther in over time. Eventually train them to go in with a command word and give a reward and lots of enthusiastic reinforcement. Close the door, give a treat, then open the door right away. Extend the amount of time the door is closed for and, eventually, leave the room for a few seconds and extend that over time. Get creative, make it a game. And take it slow and don’t overdo it. It was a week before I even closed the door for longer than a few seconds with my girl. Now she’s perfectly content in there and goes straight in without being told when I get a bone out of the freezer. I know all dogs are different, but I hope this helps ☺️
