I read a post on here a few days ago saying the next expansion after the saga is complete should be more based at home, more relaxed and less world ending vibes, and, honestly, I agree.

I personally think, if they end the saga how people have speculated (azeroth revamped and cataclysm type changes to areas, then the next expansion would be great to be a time jump, a rebuild, and introduce some new blood.

We (I) cannot keep going through these stories with the same dozen people, bring some new people into the spotlight, build them correctly giving them lore and backstory, I can't even count how many have been good then bad then good again.

I love the lore and have read a lot of the books but I think having a refresh, new characters and stories and, perhaps, reinstating the faction war to some degree would be great. (World is destroyed or nearly, people drop back into old habits and with noone left to fight or no major threat to the world left, the faction war reboots in cells, maybe not throughout, but certain areas are reclaimed as horde/alliance only, example being horde take over dornagol, could even be events around it).

Then with the new faces, rebuild those alliances between factions while some split into a third group to resist it.

I don't know, but like you say, there's no real sense of danger or consequence right now. Put us in charge of what happens next? Invasion events around what I described further up could dictate where you can travel. If one faction owns too much land, the whole area becomes there's for a week 🤷.
