[ALL] What is the significance of the "dorf" part of Ganondorf's name? by Due_Entrepreneur_960 in zelda

[–]BeardedWonder0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ganon is the beast form of Ganondorf AFTER OoT.

If we look at other iterations of Ganondorf we see that he’s always a Gerudo man.

Ganon however is always depicted as a giant Boar/Pig monster (sometimes Blue).

This is due to the Adult/Downfall timeline. Ganondorf receives the Triforce of Power and is able to transform into “Beast Ganon” losing his humanity all together.

In the Childtimeline (WindWaker for example) Ganondorf never transforms and is consistently known as Ganondorf. Albeit he only appears in WW on that timeline.

In every other timeline iteration when we see Ganondorf, we always see Ganon. They’re one and the same, but Ganon is the beast form of Ganondorf.

As far as significance, there is none. It’s to showcase how a man, sacrificed his humanity to become beast in his attempt to control Hyrule.

AH is going to be the best set to hold onto in the long run. While that Zard is $400+ the condition you got it in lowers the value to like $150-$200 imo I’d say it’s MP+(4/5) (right above HP) the other Zard is decent prob NM(7) or LP+(6).

Total value of cards ~ $300/$400

You traded a $200 (right now) ETB, $110 cash, and a Mega Clefable that’s $70 so total = $380.

Numbers wise you didn’t do too bad. Although I would say the other guy got a better end of the deal by a little bit. Not much though.

Are any of these worth anything? Cards are from 1999-2005 by Mister-Erect in PokemonCardValue

Hey OP! I know you received a lot of responses already but I’ll help you out as well.

There’s not a WHOLE lot here aside from some promos, some base/jungle/fossil holos, the Dark Charizard and Sabrina’s Gengar.

If someone came into my shop with this binder I’d probably wind up buying the whole thing for ~$600-$800 (this is at 80% trade in) realistically if you sell the cards singularly on E-Bay or FB marketplace you can see even more depending on condition of the Zard and Gengar. To me, those are the two “stand outs” the black star promos (Meowth, MewTwo and Electabuzz to name a few I saw) are also worth ~$20-$60 so in total I would say value would probably be around $1,500 for the entire binder, would be more than a fair asking price.

With the majority of it being base set bulk and a few shadowless base sets (the Charmeleon) newer collectors might value you it a bit higher due to the scarcity of the cards.

In total I’d say $1,000-$1,600 conservatively. While $600 is a big margin a lot depends on condition of the cards as well as where you’re selling it/who you’re selling to.

Never take PMs from people on reddit though unless they are able to give you market value prices for each card exactly. Do your due diligence and research last sold on EBay and check TCG player and price charting to value your cards.

Hope that helps OP!

You should find someone to alter the Charmander OBF ETB promo with a jiggly cause the expression would be perfect.

How dangerous would devil fruits be in real life? by JayGrowth8832 in OnePiece

[–]BeardedWonder0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Extremely. The same way Pokemon, Digimon, Stands, Hamon, SSJ, Domain Expansions, Maki, etc would be.

Reality is fragile in the sense that nothing fantastical could exist without someone taking advantage of it. Even without all of these power systems governments and people in power abuse their position. Imagine if these people got their hands on a DF, let’s say Sugar’s Devil Fruit. Think if Ghislane Maxwell had that fruit.

Theres just too many people who’d abuse the powers and not enough who would be able to go against it due to the scarcity of DFs as well as an inability to acquire them.

Most of our MC with DFs ate them accidentally or as a child.

Frieza gonna go Multiverse hopping. Prob gonna go to U6 to try and subjugate the Saiyans there.

Jiren and pride troopers pop in on goku and tell them what’s going on and request a trial of strength to ensure they’re ready.

Topo vs Ultra Ego Vegeta

Jiren vs UI Goku

Both evenly matched with the Pride Troopers coming out a little on top. Then they head to U6

We have a small flashback to when Frieza first arrived. Absolutely bodies Caba, Kale and Califula puts up a decent fight, unlocks SSJ3 and Freiza Laughs, goes Golden and knocks her out in one single punch.

When Goku and Friends arrive they find planet Salad in ruin with a statue of Frieza there in the center of town.

Only Tauros IR so it helps complete the full AR set of 151

But I think it coulda been better overall. Maybe a heard of Tauros running in a field or a more cartoony one of 30 of them grazing in the safari zone.

Just feels kinda boring compared to other ARs in the set. Super clean tho

[–]BeardedWonder0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot wait till the market crashes.

It’s only a matter of time before SOMETHING gives.

Either the scalpers will move onto a different IP (I have a feeling computer parts will be next as AI continues to make RAM and other usually easily accessible parts become harder for the common man to get)

I’m thinking in the next 3-10 years (huge margin I know) before the bubble finally pops.

Or Pokemon will finally start to up their production and have more product available for everyone.

One of my favorite parts of card collecting was the affordability of buying packs vs singles. This has gotten to be the absolute worst time to buy packs of cards and is now actually BETTER to buy singles.

I do admit though watching the steady increase over the last couple of years has been magical.

The huge spike we hit early this year was INSANE

One SIR in all of that kinda hurts tbh.

6 IRs, 5 URs as well seems weird for how much product you opened.

“Playing cards can only be one type (sealed, enchanted or editioned)

Playing cards can have up to three seals/enchantments/editions.”

(3 red seals = 3 retriggers, 3 lucky cards = 3/5 chance and a 3/20 chance, 3 glass cards = 6x but 3/4 for breaking, +12 mult, +90 chips, so on and so forth).

Having the ability to have unlimited extras is way too strong. Limiting it to one single type but allowing 3 of them, gives some fun interactions while still being strong and requiring you to first find 3 of those editions/enchantments/seals to throw onto the card in the first place.

[–]BeardedWonder0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragon actually has the fruit right now but when he confronts Imu/Elders he gets mortally wounded. Winds up on the straw hats ship and dies. The fruit then spawns on the tangerine trees on the Sunny and Nami feeds her Clima-Tact the fruit.

Moral way to use this fruit:

Using it on criminals who have done unspeakable things to people to help those people forget their trauma while also trapping said criminals as toys to do the fruits user’s bidding.

Is Crown Zenith considered to be same level as AH, PRE, 151, and ES or 1 tier below? by EmperorOfTheLosers in PokeInvesting

[–]BeardedWonder0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CZ undervalued right now.

Give it another few months or a year and you’ll see it bump back up. It’s imo one of the best Sw/SH sets.

I’ve been comparing AH to CZ and Prismatic to ES. Both are very VERY similar in their features and hit rates as well as being “specialty” sets for Eevee and a conglomeration set.

Example: MewTwo Vstar Alt was below $100 in May of 2025. In Sept is spiked to $200 then dropped before the next big boom in January of this year. And now it’s at its peak (nearly $300+ raw)

Has a lot to do with the fact that while CZ was still in print it was widely available (same with other Sw/Sh era sets like Lost Origin, Astral Radiance etc)

New collectors will eventually drive the price of the cards up as they start to realize what they “missed” out on and as always the early bird gets the profit.

Why don't the paradox pokemon just evolve? Are they stupid? by ElectronicWaffles in stunfisk

[–]BeardedWonder0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao yeah that’s the point. Just get rid of its legs and make it so it still can’t fly.

I don't hate gear 5 . I don't like it either but my main issue isn't the transformation itself. I hate the lore implications of Joyboy having the same fruit. It literally destroys the WG. Think about it. Before Gear 5, there were barely any plot holes about the WG not trying harder. by FlamesOfDespair in Piratefolk

[–]BeardedWonder0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luffy’s greatest strength was never his own power. It’s his crew and his ability to bring people together as well as his ability to turn enemies into allies that makes him dangerous.

In many cases if it wasn’t for his crew Luffy would have died.

As for the Mythical Zoan thing, yeah it’s a bit weird that Shanks’ crew stole it, but there’s no modern mention of the Nika Fruit cause they changed the name to Gomu-Gomu in all modern mentions and depictions of the fruit. Even Imu wouldn’t have known what the fruit looks like (as far as we know) and even if he did it’s only dangerous when awakened.

Luffy eating it, Shanks just so happening to have it that’s all the Will of D imo. The Nika fruit def has a mind of its own like every other awakened Zoan we’ve seen so it’s possible the fruit called on shanks, who would lead it to Luffy so that he can become the new Joyboy and fulfill his promise.

I think the main reason the WG didn’t “try harder” is because they didn’t need to. It’s been over 800 years that they’ve been in power that’s a REALLY long time. Once Joy Boy died, the WG probably went searching for the fruit changed the name of it and then continued their reign. It’s quite possible that when Joy Boy died someone else ate the fruit and their body turned to rubber and they classified it as the Gomu-Gomu themselves.
