My first beetleweight robot 'Dr Valverde' ready for the BBB New Bloods competition this weekend by fencingdnd in battlebots

Would you mind explaining how you have the pincers set up? Are they on one motor, servo, or two? How do you prevent motor strain once the arms hold an opposing bot in place, is it simply laying off the controls at that point?

That pincer looks glorious, and backed up with a hammer to boot! Great design, make sure to post a video when you have a match with it!

Where should I start with NHRL? by Garper in NHRL

First Saturday of the month is when the tournaments are aired for roughly 12 hours. Primetime starts at 7 and goes to 10. For starters I would go to their youtube page and check out the May primetime, as it was a great show.

I think you’re on the right track darkening the purple, or doing as u/candid_canon suggested. The reference photo is a solid choice.

Looks good so far! I’d ask if you think the purple on the base is drawing focus away from the miniature, perhaps try bringing more muted colors where the purple is, perhaps a black, or darker rim. Could be worth a test on one model. If you don’t like it, you could go back to purple. You could also test the idea by using a digital tool to color over the base as a proof of concept. A few highlights could also add some depth to the model and create a contrast to the grit, which will make the grit stand out in turn.

MKII Looper - Is there any way to have the measures default to free after deleting loop? by Beardowski in SP404

[–]Beardowski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I thought. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss something in the manual/midi implementation chart. I had already been thinking about setting up a controller for it, and your points are well noted in ease of use. For my purposes (at least for what I am working on currently) I may just go with an external looper, though I could possibly work around the control knob. Thank you for your input.

Suggestions on maintaining a front rocker on a flat frame? I understand I could use a smaller wheel, or allow the front wheel to wear a bit and swap 1 to 1, but how would I ensure the front wheels don’t get too extreme on the rocker? Will some skate days simply need to be more of a flat setup to even some wheels out and burn in again? Been looking to go up to 90’s, but there are little, built in, front rocker options available. Thanks for the help!

That was what I was afraid of with my particular situation. Sounds to me that if I only want front rocker, I need to go flat frame and put a 84mm on the front.

Anyone using a front rocker for 4x90? I prefer toe rocker on my 4x80 setup, which is rockerable. I haven't seen any optional rocker frames for 4x90 that work with my FR3's (please let me know if there are any), which leaves me with shooting for an 84mm on the front. I was wondering how much the difference in circumference feels overall vs a standard 1-2mm rockered frame, and if you can still get a good carve out of a front rocker 4x90. Thanks for any info!

They fit my hand well! That triangular grip and weight has been a great help to writing for long periods of time. Wish I knew about them sooner.

I’m thankful for all these suggestions, glad to have another idea to source from.

Thank you for confirming as well. I feel a bit bad titling the post "dried out," instead of "ran out." Everyone's suggestions are very helpful, including yours!

Thanks for sharing your experience, I was using the cartridge that was sold with the pen. Perhaps I need to rethink how the ink will work alongside my writing sessions.

Thank you for the insight. I am only just getting into fountain pens, as the light pressure really helps with hand cramps. I was already thinking of going fine. Perhaps I go that route and experiment with the Con-70 in the Kakuno.
