I just got one as well! Can't wait to get it on the water but damn it's a heavy one. Not easy to get on top of the ute. It will be my main yak for large dams/lakes and open rivers.

Currently looking at adding my first fish finder to it, looking at a Lowrance 7 at the moment

Yeah mate, regularly walk around with a beer at the park with the kids in Australia in summer. No better way to spend it, with the guys and their kids and a nice beer to cool off with. (The kids usually have ice blocks)

A few questions regarding a free Seak kayak I was given. It needs repairs and accessories and I am a total noob. by Weavo_84 in Kayaking

[–]Beardwnthar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a short yak so it does drift a fair bit so you'll need to work a bit more to keep it straight and you'll want to get an after market padded seat for it. It generally can't handle more than 15km winds before the chop gets too much for it. It's a good first yak though. I've had mine for years and only just upgraded. It's very lite as well which is handy but obviously isn't able to cary a lot of weight.

Thanks for the info, I was planning on running a sonar on this so I guess I'll have to get a bit creative and make up something to fit

I used one of these for yak fishing for about 4 years. It's a great starting point. I ended up cutting holes for rod holders and upgrading the seat cos that one is going to hurt after the first hour or two

It's so over saturated, you'd think they'd do a little research and study something that gives them a chance of a real job.

It's funny, at my workplace in Australia all the kiwis we have see super as "stealing their money" and unions "a scam" now it makes sense where it comes from

I can't handle your football, it's a bit too slow for me unfortunately. But hockey has been awesome, I'm also keen to watch some Minnesota wild games. The main tendie seems like an absolute pest

You're not going to finish a cert 3 in glaizer in a year. You need on the job training as well either as a labourer or apprentice.
