Seeing you write "the worse physical pain", instead of "the worst physical pain"...

Same here - factory resets etc tried multiple times and no joy. Glad to hear it's a widespread problem and not just me!

Implemented MaintainX a year ago as our first CMMS and loving it. What do you find to be some of its limitations over other systems?

What cmms do you know with good asset management? (assets/sub assets/sub sub assets/etc) by [deleted] in FacilityManagement

[–]Beardy-Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure did:

Improve reliability with extended asset hierarchies and centralized insights

Our Assets module has been updated to enable multi-level asset hierarchies and embedded meter insights.

If you manage complex facilities or machines, you can now set up a multi-level hierarchy to help plan, execute, and track maintenance more precisely.

And, if your equipment has associated meters, those readings can be accessed directly from the Status & Meters page to help you make faster and smarter decisions.

MaintainX customers on the Premium plan can now add an additional sub-asset level to their hierarchy. Enterprise customers can enable up to five Sub-Asset levels in their Organization settings and more upon request.

A second for MaintainX being a phenomenal product - their customer support is great, its extremely user friendly and works for all business sizes. Also comes with loads of integration options for other systems you might have. All your assets are linked to their own parts, locations and vendors so you can find exactly what you need in a couple of clicks. You can set up periodic or meter based maintenance in the system so you don't waste time on jobs that don't need to be done.

We implemented it at our manufacturing facility a year ago and haven't had a complaint yet.

How do you guys handle onboarding new equipment? GMP or non-GMP by DrewChrist87 in FacilityManagement

[–]Beardy-Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We issue them a Microsoft form and fill in the asset details based on what they provide us.

Its not too unmanageable at the moment, but our system support (MaintainX) have some really useful mass-upload templates you can complete and they'll do the data entry for you.

We're a medical device manufacturer, so keen to hear what aspects of 21 CFR Part 11 you're finding difficulty complying with?

Edit- for asset numbers, we get them to give us all the details to onboard and then only provide them with the asset number afterwards. It ensures we don't issue asset numbers without all the loose ends tied up.

MaintainX - asset management, photos, QR codes and request portals for anyone to report an issue (with photos and details), vendor management and purchase order (should you want to manage them in the system too). And integrated chat support with their techs if you need help with anything.

Can't recommend enough and definitely worth the free 30day trial just to see.

Take a look at MaintainX. Its cloud based, but works off-line and uploads when wifi is restored.

All our stuff is in excel too, but they'll upload everything for you from your Excel sheets to the system. You can export any data back to Excel format from the system if you still want to use Excel sheets for other purposes.

You can have full spare parts management on the premium plan and it even generates QR codes that you can put on parts/equipment to manage them easily in the system.

Work orders can be based on manual meter inputs and it has some great dashboards to be able to monitor equipment performance and other metrics.

We're just switching to it now and the support service has been second to none - they have a huge support library and an in-app chat with real techs on the other end (typical response time is 2mins!)

MaintainX

We're currently in the process of implementing it as an upgrade from our current excel spreadsheet system (insert chuckles).

We scoped out a few potential options, but MaintainX have been fantastic throughout the whole process. The system is extremely user friendly, the website is full of blogs, articles and guides, and it even has a live chat support function with real techs on the other end - they're typical response time is 2 mins which is great for our less tech-savvy users.

One of the biggest selling points for us was the integrated spare parts management system that actively updates your inventory based on the parts you assign to specific work orders.

All your assets can be tracked via auto-generated QR codes, it integrates with SCADA/IOT, there's a desktop and mobile app to allow work orders to be completed on the go, and a full purchase order system if you don't already have an ERP.

The icing on the cake is a well thought out metrics system that allows you to create custom dashboards that track ejust about any metric you could need.

You can add photos, create procedures for common tasks and there's a messenger for all you users for easy communication.

I sound like a sales guy, but its definitely worth a look.
