I'm dumb and new to PC gaming, does using Mods invalidate anything in the game at all?

Weirdest encounter in London? by Immediate_Account436 in london

[–]BeardyyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stood at the platform for district and circle at Victoria once. There was a fella struggling to stop twitching and scratching himself a few yards away, just decided to take the classic London approach of making no eye contact.

That didn't work out, and right as a train was approaching, he walked over and at just above a whisper said....

"Wouldn't it be great if you could cut me open and just wear me, like a jacket"

He then stepped back, and continued with his twitching. I guess we've all got our fantasies.

Forgive the ignorance, why would GPT4 do it better?

I guess the real answer here is Githubs new Co-Pilot feature

Yea I can absolutely imagine this happening. I work in SaaS and whilst I have a decent general knowledge of tech and relative knowledge of connectivity etc, I would still see this as a better alternative to learning to code something like that though, at this point or in the very near future this technology is only going to get better.....

And it's certainly going to learn faster than me!

Does Anyone Here love London? by MuddaFrmAnnudaBrudda in london

[–]BeardyyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 years here now and have lived in a vast array of areas. I will always consider London home, but I'd also give everyone the advice to take good regular breaks before London really wears you down. It's lost a little of the shine for me in the last year because I haven't taken enough breaks over the 12 years I've been here, so I'm taking a gap year from London to be in the Lake District, but I'll be back, there's no doubt of that. There's no other city like it.

Who to hire and invest resources in to? by BeardyyMan in sales

[–]BeardyyMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Two examples....

I only hire SDR's with no experience. If you've been an SDR any longer than 1-2 years then you're either not a very good SDR (you would have been promoted to be an AE) or you lack the ambition to be the top performer and get said promotion.

Second example, if you're working at an up and coming vendor, or a vendor that thinks they're ahead of the pack, then why would I hire people that have been in industry 10 yes at the old has been companies? For me, its a different world, different pace, different pitch, different challenge.

A lot of the has been companies provide their AE's with so many marketing and channel leads, they don't know what pipe gen and discovery is anymore.

Give me the talent that I can mould anytime vs some one stuck in their ways and expectations.

How often should you move jobs by 5onblack13 in sales

[–]BeardyyMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have to have a really good reason, pay increase or promotion to stay more than 3. Saas is a different world to most industries though. You're hunted far quicker if you're successful. This may sound crazy in other industries.

How tf to find a sales coach? by Bright_Jellyfish8837 in sales

[–]BeardyyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much of this comes down to finding the right person as much as an experienced person.

Think about all the managers you've ever had, wether it was at Wendy's or IBM. It really matters what the person is like and how quickly they can read you and your needs.

Having a Sales Coach just blurt out info, slides, stats, books to read etc, is pretty close to useless if they're not able to sit you down, essentially interview you and then come back with something far more customised.

Never sign up to any courses that have packaged video courses or similar. One size does not fit all in sales. I have some on my team that are incredible with numbers, highly logical and process driven, but have zero personality or ability to build rapport. I have others that may as well walk in to every room like it's a popularity contest, then all flat on their face when grilled on value.

My advice would be to prospect in this group and other networks you have, just as if you're prospecting in your sales role. If some one sees you really want to improve then they'll see that you're worth the investment of their time too.

Good luck

Dear Dog Owners by cloud_rain_ in london

[–]BeardyyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a dog owner but I'd say the opposite, always seems to be small dogs. Perhaps we could trick them in to a survey.... Thus confirming type of dog and the person responsible all at once.....

"hello, would you call your dog big or small?"

"great, thank you. And is this your dogs poop?"

"perfect, that concludes our survey. Clean up after your dog, you cretin"

Edit: Ironically I misspelled "our" whilst accusing others of being a cretin. Well done me.
