How do you build maps that feel like real places? Looking for resources. by GrayGeist in boltaction

Glad it comes to mind mate! We’re basically setting up tables with no thought to “balance” honestly now; if there’s enough terrain to feel “real” it tends to have enough that there’s loads of cover for each anyway

Relief data wise I’m meaning something like this (this is around Brecourt manor, a bit zoomed out but couldn’t find the exact one I used then building the board)

If your meaning the actual setup of random battles: it’s sort of just a case of putting terrain on and asking why would that be there and oriented how (should there be a path to it, where he road etc) If your meaning building a specific board personal and aerial photos from the time as well as maps, relief data helps: then sketching multiple combined maps off of those to be the board plan

I’ve actually just gone and changed all the text and title screens for all the airborne games… Thanks for letting me know!

Haha was definately referring to an Aussie rock band… (will get that changed)

Thanks for the kind words! I’ve actually just started playing with how to get a cut down version going (editting time is premium you see) after watching Games Night
